Recommend me an underrated album.

I've been listening to "Grace" by Jeff Buckley a lot lately, and it made me think about other sorts of obscure, forgotten albums. That said, I can't think of many off the top of my head, so any suggestions? I can enjoy anything except for Country and Rap. Also, I prefer if the singer (if there is one) has a good voice.

Then let me recommend some country and rap, you horribly average closed-minded turd.

Busdriver, like Twista but a thousand times sharper and with great production. Also a master of wordplay.

The Old 97's, the kings of alt-country.

Don't shut out whole genres because you heard somebody say "HUR I LIKE ERTHANG BUT RAP AND COUNTRY". They're usually morons who only listen to Top 40.
Um, except I also hate those genres because I don't like the kind of sound they're based on. I love prog rock, grunge rock psychedelic stuff, and I'm by no means the kind of person that just listens to the top 40.

In fact, a lot of people who are music enthusiasts don't like rap or country

Houdini by the Melvins. It's one of their top rated albums, but few people enjoy the Melvins, so I guess it could be considered underrated.

Did you hear about the biopic in the works about Buckley? Reeve Carney (star of the much-maligned Spider-Man musical) is set to star. This made me happy because Carney is a really gifted musician. His band's debut album, Mr. Green, Vol. 1, is the best album of 2010, IMO. Definitely worth a listen.

Geez, no need to be insulting. Fine, I'll listen to the music if you think it's good, but at least have some semblance of respect for other peoples opinions.

Yeah, I did hear about the movie, and I'm definitely looking forward to it. I don't know much about Reeve Carney, but he certainly looks like Buckley.

I will recommend Zodiac by Electric Six. The group in general, at least it seems to me, is a bit obscure.

I will recommend Streetlight Manifesto, one of my favorite bands. All of their albums are great, imo. Here is a song from their first album Everything Goes Numb, it is called Point/Counterpoint

I don't know if I consider "Grace" that underrateed. Most people know about it.

Smart Nkansah's Black Hustler of Ghana. Now that's an underatted album. Whenever I'm sad I just listen to it, the three songs are really uplifting.

Love the Melvins, I was listening to A History of Bad Men like 5 seconds ago.

Uriah Heep, Demons & Wizards. Fine early hard-rock infused with mystic-fantasy themes and just enough proggy eclecticness to keep things interesting.

It sounds like you would really enjoy Buck 65. I recommend the compilation "This Right Here is Buck 65".

No country or rap here, no sir.

I really don't know anybody I'd call a music enthusiast who claims to dislike entire genres as large as country and rap.

On the off chance you've actually listened to artists representing most of the different forms of the genres, what was it that turned you off?

Well, you said anything except country and rap, so I'm going to go ahead and suggest something which I doubt would ever be suggested on this forum:

My favorite viola concerto (the third movement in the case of the video, anyway) played by one of today's better violists. Along with a rather obscure concerto by a one-hit-wonder composer.

Why not give it a listen? It won't kill you :p
