So recently I've played Dear Esther, Journey and The Cat and The Coup. I've surprisingly really liked them.
Can anyone tell me of any other artsy-fartsy type games?

Thanks!

You've already played Journey.

Why bother with anything else, especially since it will all be inferior :D
I'm suprise that you didn't mention Okami at all! Ok sure it's isn't on the same wavelength as journey but it's somewhat artsy.

Braid is excellent. Well worth playing. Bastion is another fantastic game. I don't know if it counts as "artsy" (I guess it does), but Fez is another brilliant one. Limbo has a lot of fans but I personally didn't like it. You might like it if you give it a go. Other games that I hear are good are things like Outland, Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet and From Dust.

If you've played Journey, you should try Flower, it's from the same people.

ART is the sum of ALL the parts that made it great, so logically, Okami IS art.

....and so is Godhand, IJI, Sacrifice, Giant Citizen Kabuto, MDK, Dungeon Keeper, Vectorman and Populous

Well, like art film, art game is a genre in of itself.

One Okami doesn't fit into.

Okami is like the Legend of Zelda, only better in every conceivable way.

Saints Row 2, or three.

Nothing is quite as artistic as getting naked, and streaking around the Ultor building in Saints Row 2. Or to get in a furry costume and get into a fight with the cops in Saints Row 3.

...
...
...

What? Its a perfect metaphor for the helplessness corporations tend to make the people beneath them feel. The feeling that one could be fired at any moment, that you are a worthless cog in a machine that doesn't care for you. Naked one might say in a cruel, unforgiving place that wishes to spit you out.

And the police? The habit of police to be overly aggressive, removing humanity from people as they abuse power, turning you into a lesser creature. Your innocence matters less then how they, and the world perceive you.

...*Cough*...

The Void
The Path (and Tale of Tales' other stuff, i.e. Fatale, Graveyard. Those are very small games, though, and not something I'd recommend)
To The Moon
Eversion
Trauma
Rez, if you have a PS2

Limbo, To the Moon. I would also say Bioshock is a great art game. Does anyone agree?

If you're interested, I wrote a short overview of some of the more "popular" art games a bit ago:
http://www.bagofgames.com/2012/06/i-dont-know-much-about-art/

Speaking of Tale of Tales, Bientot l'ete looks like it will be interesting. Got a peek at the alpha, and it looks as if it's another game centered around players trying to communicate with a somewhat limited vocabulary, much like their earlier multiplayer game The Endless Forest.

I would draw a distinction between art games and games that are artful. Yeah, splitting the semantic hair here, but to take an example, Limbo was a beautifully executed, lovely to look at, broody platformer. But I wouldn't call it an art game in the sense that Braid is, mostly because it's not really trying to say anything other than "experience this strange world". Not that there's anything wrong with that, as Seinfeld would say, and in fact Limbo is a terrific game while Braid's narrative is sometimes a bit too self-indulgent. But the aims of self described art games tend to be something other than pure gameplay.

A third vote for To the Moon.

I really like The Stanley Parable.

Also why not try:

Every Day The Same Dream

and

One Chance

These are free.

There are games that are "artsy" and there are games that are Art.

Bastion, Braid and Limbo are just "artsy".

Dear Esther is ART, Journey is ART, The Path is ART.

Rez is quite a ride, check it out. I also kind of enjoyed Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery EP until I got stuck on a puzzle and kind of stopped playing :-/
