I think that's all, thanks in advance!
For some lighthearted reading in Lotr style go for "The Hobbit", the book is only about 300 pages and a good nice read.
If you haven't read them, try yathzees (Ben Croshaw) books, they are both great fun :D
For good sci-fi I'd reccomend "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" which I saw someone else talk about.

A book series that had me completely unprepared for its awesomeoness was "The Count of Monte Christo"
It's a book series of 6 books, all between 195 and 205 pages. Tells about a guy who is sent to prison because some military overlord is in love with the lady he is engaged with. So book 1 and 2 are basically the begining and him in prison, he then gets out from there and starts the most awesome revenge story ever.
I liked the way the book is written, I can certainly see it not fitting to everyone, but it sure is worth a try :)

Not really an avid Crime reader but fantasy, apocalypse and a bit of Sci fi I do tend to have a fair amount of experience with.

Fantasy -
Game of Thrones by George R R Martin(as no doubt expected)
Dragonlance (the older stuff by Weis & Hickman)
Any Discworld by Sir Terry Pratchett
The Fionaver Tapestry series by Guy Gavriel Kay
The Belgariad & Mallorean by David Eddings
The Trudy Canavan series (cant remember if the series had a specific name)
Temeraire and all subsequent books by Naomi Novik (kind of an alternative napoleonic war with dragons)
American Gods - Neil Gaiman

Sci Fi-
Consist mostly of the Star Wars follow on books like the Thrawn trilogy by Timothy Zahn.
Axis of Time Trilogy by John Birmingham (Alternate WW2 history)

Apocalypse -
The Patient Zero story arc by Jonathan Maberry
Arisen by Glynn James and Michael Stephen Fuchs
Without Warning by John Birmingham

Crime -
Any of the Charlie Parker novels by John Connolly (Supernatural serial killer stuff)
