you are not going to like your first beer. In all honesty (asuming you're a guy here) even though it isn't very manly drink the best way to ease yourself into the taste of alcohol before you move into the more bitter stuff or spirits is sweet white wine. Then some red or dry-white wine.
As far as liquor goes, unfotunatly, the milder once are the more expensive once. The cheaper the booze the more it's going to kick you in the throat.
at the end of the day it's acquired taste and you can either mussle through it with beer (like with coffee) and grow into the bitter taste. Or go through all the super sugary stuff to ease you into the general alcohol taste. I would suggest wine over breezers and stuff because that stuff carries a strong risk of getting you crazy drunk without you really noticing it if you have never drank before.
