Recommend Me My First Drink

you are not going to like your first beer. In all honesty (asuming you're a guy here) even though it isn't very manly drink the best way to ease yourself into the taste of alcohol before you move into the more bitter stuff or spirits is sweet white wine. Then some red or dry-white wine.

As far as liquor goes, unfotunatly, the milder once are the more expensive once. The cheaper the booze the more it's going to kick you in the throat.

at the end of the day it's acquired taste and you can either mussle through it with beer (like with coffee) and grow into the bitter taste. Or go through all the super sugary stuff to ease you into the general alcohol taste. I would suggest wine over breezers and stuff because that stuff carries a strong risk of getting you crazy drunk without you really noticing it if you have never drank before.

Putting up Jager is fair enough but for a first time drinker you should be a little more specific. Side note, I can't drink beer or I feel heaps sick so obviously I'm not recommending it but... for some people beer is a good place to start.

Jager Bomb! (Red bull in a glass n they drop a shotglass full of Jager into it. You have to scull it right away or it just tastes like medicine. 1st timer one of these should do you the entire night just don't drink any more alcohol.

Slate and coke. (Burbon and Coke, standard men's club drink)

Vodka and Orange Juice. (A good starter, not too alcoholic tasting and not as much of a sugar rush).

Personally I love Teapots, though they probably aren't good for first timers.

Fruit Tingle (Vodka, Tequila, Blue Curacau, Grenadine and Lemonade), expensive but OMG... so amazingly tasty and alcoholic.

Skittles (Basically a Fruit Tingle but without the Tequila)

Oh and... pro tip. Have a bottle of Powerade or some water and jellybeans at the end of the night. The extra sugar and water in your bloodstream counteracts hangovers a lot. A large part of hangovers is dehydration.

I'd recommend Tequilla Sunrise, Sex on the Beach and my latest favourite, Strawberry Daiquiri. Fruity enough and three are enough.

Taking this out of context but: Dear god, stay the hell away from gin.
An awful, evil drink is gin. The source of my first hangover and I haven't touched the bloody stuff since.

As for my own advice, I'm a beer drinker mainly, but I dabble with other stuff on occasion and enjoy a single malt scotch when I'm not drinking socially, but definitely don't start with these because they're pricey buggers, I'm on a bottle that's been aged 12 years and cost me £40 or so, so if you fancy dabbling with Scotch later down the line, try some blended stuff first and see if you get a taste for it.

Back to beers, first thing to learn is that beer is a very all encompassing term. I've heard most US beers are based off the German stuff, but over here we have Stouts, Porters and Bitters. Bitters are my preference and tend to be smooth, rather crisp and refreshing. Someone will have to confirm this for me, but if you fancy looking for that kind of thing then I think they tend to be called Microbrews in the US. Either way, good ale is good.

I'll throw in with the cider chaps as well and give another recommendation for Kopparberg. Particularly their pear and summer fruits stuff.

God it feels weird giving alcohol advice to someone older than me when I've been drinking legally for two years.

I started with beer back in the days (a little over a decade ago), but if you don't like the taste then I think there is some modern copy of beer that goes by the name of Bacardi breezer or something like that, which could be a good place to start.

Bacardi Breezer....not quite sure how that's a "modern copy" of beer. It's rum and fizzy fruit juice. Even if we're talking "the thing everyone drinks", it's not, they barely get you drunk and they're sort of deemed as a joke drink for men and for women who don't want to get drunk but want to drink something alcoholic.

If a Barman can't make a Long Vodka, he's really not got any business being behind a bar that sells cocktails of any description. If he can make a vodka + mixer, he can do vodka + lemonade + lime and bitters, it's like the worlds easiest cocktail.

I wasn't aware that drinking alchohol was about getting drunk instead of just relaxing and having a good time. I enjoy the taste of beer, but I have a cousin who doesn't like the taste and so he drink that bazardi stuff, which is why I brough it up in the first place.

Not everything has to be about cocktails you know.

Don't try anything weird. Go with something you know you'll like, so you don't get turned off at the beginning. Also, start weak and go strong -- nothing worse than getting sick or having alcohol fumes shot up your nose to make you decide you don't like drinking.

So, I say, sample beer, wine, and a mixed drink. Taste a beer -- see if you like the hoppy flavor that usually comes with beer. Me, I don't, and even the best beers get a "meh" from me. Wines have their own peculiarities. Mixed drinks can have a much wider variety of flavors, so try something simple like a screwdriver (vodka + orange juice), or Kahlua + milk if you like creamy sweet things. Start small and simple, go big and weird later.

Tipsy is way more fun than drunk. Sod peer pressure, there's no hurry, try things you want to try, and don't try a lot of them.

Drunk is not fun; hammered, definitely not. Hangovers are NEVER fun.

What you want is a good crisp Czech pilsner or lager, like Budvar, Pilsner Urquell or Staropramen. Then what you want is a selection of local ales.

Tried Pilsner and Budvar, didn't like either. I've never heard of Staropramen. I can only seem to drink beer when I am already drunk. It's so limiting when you go to a bar.
