Old movies ftw! Take your pick: Citizen Kane, Ben-Hur, Metropolis, The Birth of A Nation, Casablanca, King Kong, Lawrence of Arabia, His Girl Friday, To Kill A Mockingbird, Some Like It Hot, "M", All About Eve, The Women, and anything by Hitchcock of course...

A Scanner Darkly
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
Johnny Got His Gun (This may not be as good as I think. I heavily associate it with One)
[HEADING=1]The 36 Chambers of Shaolin[/HEADING]
The Devil's Rejects

Now, some of you may disagree with me on that last point. You are wrong. That is all.

There are many more good movies I know of but I'm busy watching television and engaging in internet-aided vandalism
I've gotta check out 36 Chambers now, thanks for that recommendation.

The Hurt Locker came out on DVD just yesterday actually and it is the best war movie I have ever seen in my life.
I'll second that one. I'm not sure it's the best, but it is very, very good.
Actually, I may or may not have not said this when talking about the movie on the first page, but it was my favorite of 2009.

A lot of great ones there with a couple I haven't seen. Anything Hitchcock is great, especially Psycho and Vertigo.

Die you zombie bastards. Its so over the top, rediculus, and it made me fall in love with B style horror movies all over again.

You make this thread, you'll be busy for a while.
It'll be well worth the time spent based on how much I enjoy movies.

12 Monkeys- best time travel movie ever made

Dark City-same concept as Matrix, but better
Pi-confusing and Lynchian, yet genius
Donnie Brasco-classic but underappreciated Mob movie. Depp, Madsen, Pacino.
Brotherhood of War (Korean)- Korean war movie, accurately told
The Host (Korean)- best creature flick I've seen in a while
Postal- apparently Uwe Boll knows how to make comedies
Evolution- Oddball creature invasion
Kingdom of Heaven- not enough movies about the Crusades
Equilibrium- Dystopian drama that veers between violent, cheesy, and moving
Donnie Darko- teenage mindfuck. For people who think Terminator's time travel wasn't confusing enough
Southland Tales- like above, but worse
Enemy at the Gates- Germans vs Russians in Stalingrad. Better than Saving Private Ryan
Natural Born Killers- Oliver Stone's exploration of American pyschopathy. Badass soundtrack
Hurly Burly- some of the best dialogue ever
28 Weeks Later- makes the first look like a steaming pile. Worth it for the firebombing of London alone
Downfall- this is where "Hitler finds out..." videos come from
Blindness- the whole world goes blind
W- depending on politics, you'll love it or hate it
Day of the Dead- "I run this monkey farm now!"
A Boy and His Dog- Don Johnson as Mad Max. Hard to find

I dare you to watch Eraserhead. It will scar you.

EDIT: How the hell could I forget Dr. Strangelove?

Crythalis was pretty good.
Also, the Horseman on the Roof is good; it feels like a cross between Pride and Prejudice and Pirates of the Caribbean.

I'll try to stay away from "popular" movies, I tend to enjoy somber ones.

It's a Wonderful Life - My personal favorite movie
Citizen Kane - I enjoyed it, widely considered to be a classic movie
The Fountain - Great movie to watch with a girl (very sad, unrequited love, etc.)
Memento - Saw this was on your list
The Fall - Artsy movie
Pan's Labyrinth - Dark Fairytale
Notes on a Scandal - Great character actors (Judy Dench and Cate Blanchet)

There's a bunch more, but there you have it.

Completely random movie: Reefer Madness

12 Monkeys was awesome and Donnie Darko is the movie that gets more confusing to think about the more you watch it (in a oddly compelling way that no other movie has made me feel). Natural Born Killers is good and Downfall is great as well. Day of the Dead is another great classic zombie movie from Romero, but I haven't seen 28 Weeks Later yet. I'll probably check it out just because I enjoyed the first.

Of course, I'm suprised I didn't see It's a Wonderful Life on any of the posts before. It's definitely a classic and the movie never gets old no matter how much you watch it. Citizen Kane is another of those movies that stood the test of time and Pan's Labyrinth could be a modern-day classic in the making if people are still talking about it years from now.

And yes, Reefer Madness seems pretty random today, but back then, it was trying to warn the people. Today, however, it is viewed as nowhere near as serious as it was trying to be and did not stand the test of time like some of those other movies you've listed. Then again, when you have the intent of that movie along with way of displaying its content, that probably also killed its relevance.

One flew over the cuckoo's nest. It's got Jack Nicholson in it, who also starred in Kubrick's The Shining and Batman. The movie's about a guy who gets put into a mental hospital because of a crime he had committed. He makes some friends and tries to go against that evil nurse. I won't say anymore, in case I spoil it.
Seen Dr. Strangelove and Cuckoo's Nest (for Kubrick for both and Nicholson in Cuckoo's Nest), and loved the Shining also. I've also seen the Graduate and Good Morning Vietnam. If possible, what does BoB stand for (can't decipher the acronym at this moment)?
Band of Brothers.

also look out for The Pacific- speilberg and hanks again!

I would definitely say to watch Dark City above all the others one you didn't mention. It has my favorite scene in any movie...you'll know it when you see it.

I know you said that you've seen In Bruges, OP [small](as did a few others which I am very pleased about :) )[/small], but for those who haven't seen it yet DO IT!!! NOW!!!

But yeah, try the Oceans movies. They're pretty fun to watch, especially if you like heist movies.
