I welcome you to our sueprior race of PC gamers. Glad you have managed to shed the drapes of those console peasants and ascend into the higher plane of existence.

Im a strategy gamer, so this is mainly geared towards that:
Civilization series (4 and 5 are both great games in thier own way, 2 if you prefer compelxitiy > graphics)
Total war series. All of it is brilliant.
Basically everythign Paradox interactive released (HOI, darkest hour, ect ect)
OpenTTD is great fun, though once you learn everything it can become repetetive.
If you want to capculate everything and make profits try Eve Online. but be warned, its called excel with graphics for a reason.
World of tanks. you will meet other tankers, start doing clan battles and have awesoem strategies and plans, competition. but be warned, the "Rage inducing factor" in random battles are as bad as LOL.
ANd others have also gave you many other great games from other genres too. PC possibilities are endless, long live the modding.

-F.E.A.R & Expansion Packs
i sincerely hope you mean the original one. Since the original FEAR and the expansions were great fun, FEAR2 and further was simply awful.

-Cryostasis
is that any good? i wanted to try that, but removed it from my list of games to get due to there being around 10 times less hours in a day than i would need to play all i want.

be bought an ASUS. he is going to be crafting whether he likes it or not.
ok, jokes aside, ASUS is good. if he had bought ALIENWARE or something you could make fun of him for paying half the money for a nice alien logo on the pc or something.

Go to GOG.com and buy Planescape: Torment.

That game is why PC gaming is, and always will be, better than console.
i challenge your authority by claiming that PC gaming is beter than console gaming while never having played the game you speak off. We should duel with our magic teraflops superpowers.

well, he did not state what he wanted really. he wanted PC games that we thing are great, so we told him about them. age is not a factor in how good the game is, only in how big the graphics are. we do not know whether he is a person who needs graphics or not, so we recommend from all departments. Doom 2 was crappy game either way so you wouldnt be happy, unless you got very strange tastes (he did not mention his taste either, so you do not know that either).

Last night i joined the glorious PC master race with my ASUS gaming computer. Now I already have Guild Wars II, and I've been given a copy of DOTA and Torchlight II, and I'm prolly going to be checking out League of Legends.

I'm also going to be picking up Mass Effect 3 at some point and Skyrim, but what else is out there that I could throw at my pc?

to give you some idea of its specs, it can run Crysis 3 at the recommended specs (actually slightly above) and the only thing preventing it from running it at full power is my video card.

SO...whatcha got for me?

welcome brother I remeber twas only over a year ago when I joined the master race mainly due to mount and blade warband check it out great single player awesome multi with a really great modding comunity the sins of a solar empires series is also good

ftl faster then light is also good planet side 2 is also fun any elder scrolls game due to all the mods

I recommend you people FPS free to play (very balanced...things that matters to gameplay are ALL for ingame currency)
In it ways game simillar to FEAR and Crysis (that was my first thought). It is BLR (blacklight retribution)

If you want to give it a try here is link for it: https://register.perfectworld.com/bl_splash/6d6a727050db0d40b4455577af18a48c

"Recommend me"

Grammar police! Come out with you're hands up!

Your/You're, I know. But did you want me to recommend you to some PC games or recommend some PC games to you? Whatever you do, don't get Command & Conquer 4. I would recommend Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead 2.
YOU'LL NEVER TAKE ME ALIVE COPPERS! I HAVE NO DAMNS LEFT TO GIVE AND A TANK IN HERE!

on the flip side, thanks for the recommen(dation)s, however i'm noticing a lot of people's suggestions include titles i could get on my xbox :/
However, both Left 4 Dead 2 and Team Fortress 2 are vastly superior to the Xbox versions. Both have a lot more content available - much of it for free - and a much larger community. On top of that they both control a lot better with a mouse than a controller.

Sorry for taking so long to reply, but I didn't realise you had quoted me. Anyway:
-Yeah, the first F.E.A.R and it's expansion packs, the second and third game were horrible. In my list unless I specified the series or a specific title number one should assume I am refering to the first game of the series.
-I found Cryostasis to be quite good, but to date I haven't finished it, but I would like to (perhaps playing it in Russian actually, if I manage to learn the language well enough). However, it isn't for everyone: it's a VERY slow game, the combat isn't very good and it's a huge performance hog, even more than Crysis as it doesn't utilise multi-core processors. In the other hand, the atmosphere is AMAZING, almost Silent Hill 2-like, maybe even better; the graphics, while being badly optimized, are just plainly amazing and have aged quite well; I haven't really seen a story like it yet, however as I said I haven't finished the game, but what I played I really liked. I do recommend it, but I would suggest anyone to research and think twice before purchasing it. Maybe look for a review in YouTube before deciding.

dont worry about response time, im used to being responded to after months, sometimes even years after i write something. such is the life on IMDB forums :p
I like games that are not rushing to get you around on a rollercoaster. atmosphere is an important factor.
pretty shit about the resource hog factor, as while being a gamer i still have a pretty slow machine that i am already planning to upgrade soon depending on income.
I did some research on the game when it came out and thats how it got into my "non-riority games to play when have time" list and been sitting there for a while then got removed as i cleaned out like half (read around 100) of the games on that list since it was getting way out if hand. i will likely look at youtube beforehand. i usually read a few reviews before taking the game.
