Hey guys, I FINALLY downloaded Steam last night.

Now I can see why everyone loves it.

I purchased Knights of the Old Republic AND Machinarium for only $5.80-something cents. Wow what a deal.

However I have a very low-end laptop with an intergrated graphics card, so the games I can actually play is quite limited.

So I'm looking for some low-end games, preferably platformers, puzzlers, or RPGs. Anyone have any recommendations ?

The Mount and Blade Collection is only $10 right now. While the graphics may be poorer, the combat more than makes up for it.

There's King's Bounty on sale today. It's a Heroes of Might and Magic type of game. Quite fun and quite difficult.

Heck yeah. I got it to give my computer's new power a bit of a workout. Well the video card really, before that I still met the other requirements.

Just keep an eye out for some of the older games, although with integrated graphics your choices are rather slim.

I know the title say's steam games, but have you ever played a game called Super Mario?
Something about this strikes me as a troll answer....can't quite put my finger on what it would be.

I highly recommend that one myself, but the game is buggy as all hell even with the Maximum Edition. In case you get stuck you will want to keep this website [http://www.incrysis.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=13946] in your favorites. I recently started playing the game from the beginning, and there are some really nasty bugs in the end of the 3rd (Relic) and 4th (Assault) levels. There are no fixes for these bugs, and you may simply be unable to complete a level because of them. However, the website the link points to has save games to the beginning of each level in the game, so if you find yourself stuck at the end of the 3rd or 4th level simply load up the next level.

Other than that I got to give Crysis and Crysis Warhead a big thumbs up!

Either this is an amusing example of sarcasm, or an amusing failure to read the original post. Either way thank you.

Fallout 1 & 2: The Ur-example of CRPG's like Baldur's Gate or Planescape, the forebears of Knights of the old republic. A unique and often dark sense of humor, these games have great stories and great character. They definitely show their age though in terms of game mechanics (like the first 10 minutes of Fallout 2 being stupid hard)

Beyond Good and Evil: Story of a woman journalist on another planet fighting an alien invasion with her wit, camera, and the occasional whack with a big stick. And an Uncle for a pig, armed with fart-powered rocket boots. Yeah..

Poker Night at the Inventory: If you enjoy Penny Arcade/Sam and Max(a good adventure series!)/TF2 style humor as well as poker, I recommend it. Its only five bucks, but you easily get what you pay for.

Trine: Platforming and puzzle solving fun.

Torchlight: Diablo 2 but better.

Deus Ex 1 & 2: The granddaddy of action-rpgs, great stories and interesting gameplay. Like Fallout, for those used to modern day game mechanics, they can come as quite a shock.

Also, if I could get you to check out gog.com ? They have a lot of Good Old Games which I think would be perfect for your situation.

Braid
That game is sweet ... reversing time as a mechanic, when there are (greenish tint) objects immune to time reversal. Genius.

Audiosurf
Listen to your own music while playing a game at the same time.
Not the most amazing game in the world, but for what it does, it's gold.

I.e. I'm recommending getting the Indie heavy hitters bundle.

I mainly play older strategy titles on my laptop .. but it seems you're not a strategy game fan, so meh at recommending stuff.

Hmm.
Puzzle Quest series, that is

Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords
Puzzle Quest: Galactrix
Puzzle Quest 2

Those games combine RPG by adding very creative twists to a puzzle game.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent

If you like scary games at all buy it, trust me.
Yeah I just finished it and would say I'd be happy to pay full price for it.

As far as RPG's go, I'd say try King's Bounty, as it's on sale today.

Metro 2033. On Ultra. On a more serious note, Machinarium and Neverwinter Nights are good choices. If you have Windows XP, I suggest getting Fallout 2 from Good Old Games. Finally, Psychonauts!
