Have you ever had that game that looks kinda good to make you interested but not good enough to make you run out and buy it? That's kind of where I am right now with several games and I could use your advice on the following games.

Arkum Aslyum/City
Armored Core V
Dead Rising 2
Devil May Cry 4 (Just a mild curosity with this one)
Just Cause 2
RAGE
Soul Caliber V
The Witcher 2 (I'll probably get the xbox port when it comes out if I get it)

I really could use a fresh addition to my library of games, any advice that I can get on any of these games would be welcome.

I suggest forgetting about all of those games and go play Dark Souls.
Well that's not exactly going to help me expand my library, I already HAVE Dark Souls.

Arkham Asylum is one of my favourite all time games so I'd definitely recommend it. If you like it then you should like Arkham City too. The gameplay feels more refined in Arkham City, although personally I think the story in Asylum is better.

Devil May Cry 4 is dirt cheap now so I'd just go buy it if you're curious. Couldn't hurt right?

Witcher 2 is apparently excellent and I intend to purchase the EE when it comes out.

Just Cause 2 is preposterously fun, and a good value for the $7 or so it usually costs during sales.

Can't speak to the others.

Well that would reason could you possibly have to expand your library with inferior games?
Uh, variety is the spice of life? Just want to throw a couple of games into my library, and besides just because I have access to prime rib all of the time doesn't mean I'll never want to eat something of a slightly lesser quality. Say, for example, pizza.

Only two I've played are Dead Rising 2 and Just Cause 2. Rest I've seen in either Lets Plays or general coverage.

DR2 is great, running around causing mass zombie chaos can be pretty fun.

JC2 is freaking INSANE. You can do so many goofy things in that game. I've attacked a car to a helicopter and used it as a wrecking ball. What more do you need?

Most things I've heard about Arkum City are positive, only negatives being the whole Cat Woman DLC thing. It's an open(ish) world Batman game with some great story and combat.

DMC4 is one of those insane juggler shooter games. You can string some insane combos and the story seems entertaining.

RAGE is your standard FPS really, the most dangerous, destructive weapon in it? Wingsticks. They'll kill anything! It has a pretty shit ending from what I've seen though.

Soul Caliber V is your typical Soul Caliber fighting game. If you like fighting games you'll probably like SCV.

Witcher 2 has already been given a thumbs up by someone and I don't know about Armored Core to talk about it.

Well in that case I wouldnt actually call any of the games on your list good. Minus of course the witcher 2 and armored core because I have never played them. If you like superhero games where you mindless beat people up for no reason then you should get the batman ones. If you want a hack and slash go for dmc4. If you want a brainless blow shit up game then get just cause 2.
Uh, thanks for your help, I'll go do that?

I haven't played any of those games ... I guess i'm pretty much out of the loop when it comes to popular games :/ . But based on hearsay , i'd go with batman .

I second (third?) Just Cause 2. It's barrels of fun, but only if you don't take the game seriously. Because if you do, well, the game is actually pretty lack luster. But you can do crazy things that shouldn't be possible (My friend and I have fun attaching trucks to cargo planes, and watching the plane have too much weight to make it far off the ground :D)

The Witcher 2 is an excellent story-driven rpg, and CDPR did more than port it. They really tried to do a full-blown adaptation for the 360. From what I've seen of it, it looks like they did a good job.

I haven't played Armored Core V, but it looks like it's still a great mech sim. The rest of your list isn't really my thing, but if you're more in the mood for one of those, have fun!

The Arkham games are simply superb, and my girlfriend vouches for the excellence of The Witcher 2.

Everything else in that list you can do without.

The Witcher 2 is a truly epic, intense, and emotionally charged RPG with a non-linear story.

Arkham Asylum/City are great fun and is definitely the best Batman games released on any console so far. Arkham Asylum has a great story, and epic combat, in Arkham City overall you get an even more refined combat and game-play experience but a somewhat weaker story.

I've only played two of those games: Both of the Batman ones. Asylum is decent. It has terrible boss fights, but is good otherwise. I liked Arkham City way more. The biggest change is the setting. The city is a hell of a lot of fun to get around in. And I think a game designer has done a great thing when they make the process of getting from point A to point B fun. The boss fights are also infinitely better. Make sure you turn off the hints so you can get the most out of one in particular. And the cast is fantastic as well. Pretty damn great game.

Edit: And since it's already been mentioned by others, I'll throw in another positive recommendation for Bayonetta. Best action game I've ever played.

Out of those I would recommend the Arkham games, Dead Rising 2 and Just Cause 2. You would be able to get Just Cause 2 and any other of these games as well because it's dirt cheap. Devil May Cry 4 is also a bit of fun, but I would recommend these games over them, especially since it's only a mild curiosity when it comes to DMC4

Do not.
Get RAGE.
For the love of God, don't purchase that game.
I'd say The Witcher 2, you'll get plenty of time out of it, the gameplay is awesome and the story is great.

NOT RAGE

ANYTHING BUT RAGE

GRAGGHGHGH

The Witcher 2 is an excellent game, and the best out of that bunch. Arkham Asylum is a very close second, possibly better depending on your tastes. Forget Arkham City, it's basically the same game with knobs on, just save money and get the first one. Just Cause 2 is ok but nowhere near the same league as these two, mainly because the story and quests are utter shite.

Can't comment on the rest really, they look like borefests to me but there you go. If you're curious about Devil May Cry 4, you should try Bayonetta, it's a pretty good game and again should be quite cheap by now. Just don't take the story seriously, it's ridiculous.
Considering that the main protagonist uses her hair for BDSM combat techniques, I think I won't take it TOO seriously.
