I have an extra $30 laying around and I just NEED a new DS game. I have both Zelda and Professor Layton games, so anybody know some good games I could get?

The DS games that I can recommend, simply because I thought they were awesome are

Kirby Super Star Ultra
New Super Mario. Bros
Mario and Luigi : Bowser's Inside Story
Mario Kart DS
Contra 4
Rhythm Paradise (or Rhythm Heaven in the US)
Final Fantasy 3
Phoenix Wright

Try Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift. I threw 80 hours into that.

Castlevania Order of Ecclesia. Best Castlevania on the DS yet!
I found the difficulty to be like running into a brick wall. But that's just me. If you want something just as good, try Dawn of Sorrow.

Kirby: canvas curse.... some of the most fun stylus gaming without it seeming forced. And I usually hated Kirby games.

Chrono Trigger DS. Not only is it Chrono trigger, they enhanced it just a tad bit, so it still feels like the original, but with some nice polish.

Hmm I'm really enjoying final fantasy III at the moment, however if you don't like the idea of turn based combat you should look for something else. Games like mario kart DS and sonic rush seem to be liked by most people.

If you can hang on until about the 3rd week of March, Infinite Space is being released, awesome looking spaceship/rpg game. Design your own cruiser! Command a fleet! It looks freaking awesome!

Yup, this is still one of the most fun stylus-based games to exist on the DS.

As for my own recommendations:

-Meteos (i still play this every once in a while, nearly 5 years after buying it)
-Planet Puzzle League
-Elite Beat Agents (probably the best sound-based game i have ever played if not second to Amplitude, though it is very campy. which is only a plus for me)
-Any of the Castlevania games (Dawn of sorrow is probably the best, but the other two are quite enjoyable as well)
-Tetris DS(i still frequently play this game, four years later)
-Sonic rush. this is the only sonic game released in the last 10 years that i found to be actually fun. it's got all of the style of the original 3, but with a few additional tweaks that make it quite fun. the sonic advanced ones weren't too bad either. you can probably find this game for 10 dollars now too.

I think all of these games other than the castlevania ones are on the 10 and 20 dollars racks for being so old, so you could probably get multiple games off this list.

The World Ends With You.

Thats about it, everyone else listed the other good ones. I've been meaning to grab Front Mission though, and Sonic Chronicles is a decent game, if only because it was made by bioware.
Maybe the Advanced Wars and Fire Emblem games as well, if you are into those.
And I've heard the Valkyrie Profile game for the DS is good too.

Or, if you want something that can potentially take up hundreds of hours of your life, Disgaea.
I did not know front mission was on DS... I will be downl... i mean buying it immediately!

:)

GTA: Chinatown Wars
Chrono Trigger DS
Broken Sword DS is quite good, especially seeing that they've added a load of extra areas so it's something new even if you've played it before.
Contra IV

I wouldn't advise FFIII/FFIV if you've played the originals already. Actually scrap that, just get the originals don't bother with the DS remakes.
