Definitely, I absolutely adore that mod.

It tells EXACTLY how to do it. It is very simple.
But NNNOOO they can't read and understand the guide.
I'm sorry, I am ranting, but it is extremely aggravating when people can't follow such a simple and straightforward guide. And then I become tech support for a couple of hours.
*sigh* Sorry about the rant, but look at the bright side, you got the guide for how to install it.

For Half Life 2: get smod. definitely.
For Garrys Mod I'd reccomend the Phoenix storm item packs. But there's really too much choice to get just one. Go here [http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/] for more.

I can't help you with fallout, i'm afraid.

What's the smod?

Basically, you play through the hl2 story, but with weapons that include exploding bananas, a shovel and a portable strider cannon. and scissors.

You'll need either WinRar or 7zip to open it (7zip can be downloaded for free)
Then just extract it to your sourcemods folder.
