i am trying to figure out if there is any way to record the soundcard or onboard sound driver's output.

i dont want to record my computers speakers through a mic, but rather record the output sound straight out of the sound card/onboard sound driver so theoretically it would record w/o even if im only playing the sound on headphones and had no mic.

eehhh there is a way, but its a it of a cheap/cheat way to do it and you arn't guarenteed the best quality.

you'll need a headphone spliiter jack and a dual jack cable. Plug the splitter into your output, your speakers into one socket, the dual jack cable into another, then plug the other end of the dual jack into you mic input.

Then simply record it using whatever recording software you have.

Or you can just find a thing called "Stereo mix", make it your default recording hardware. Go to audacity or windows recorder or whatever, and start recording :p.

Go to your recording options in your sound options, and only enable stereo mix
