Some dreams you only have once, some you have multiple times - for some reason.

I had a dream a couple of times - although lately not anymore - in which I live in a very old and isolated mansion, and there is a secret passage - like an airduct - by the stairs. On the other side is a gigantic forest with huge mushrooms and a waterfall with a cave behind it, and there is some kind of weird devil-like person there. I can't remember all the wacky adventures I must have had there, but this is basically what I remember.

So tell me, Escapists, about your recurring dreams.

I can really only remember one I kept having and as such have stopped.

Apparently it was a haunted mansion being haunted by monsters that turned out to be cannibalistic old people that probably came from space. Yeah, I have no idea what I ate either.

Probably too much curry.
I have had a recurring dream where I forget that I actually one class all year. A secret class if you will. Then I end up trying to not fail it but I usually just end up running around doing nothing productive.

When I was younger, I used to constantly dream of falling down a bottomless black pit.

Now, I just have recurring dreams of zombies every so often, and it scares the living hell out of me. Sure the details differ from dream-to-dream (e.g. sometimes I'll barricade my room just as they're rushing up the stairs, sometimes I'll have a heads up and manage to destroy the stairs before they arrive), but the zombie theme remains the same in all of my nightmares.

And you must have eaten whatever caused it multiple times, too.

Do you actually dream about the black pit, or is it that sudden sense of falling you sometimes get when you're falling asleep?

Also, zombies are a favourite of mine, too. "Favourite". I once dreamt I woke up from a strange sound in the garden. Pulled up the curtains. Fucking zombies. It got worse from there.

When I was a kid I kept on having nightmares about trains crashing, which I'd wake up from screaming that my dad had died. My dad has no connections with trains and I can't remember any reason why I'd even be thinking about them other than Thomas the Tank Engine. It's funny looking back at it but it traumatized me as a young'un.

Well whatever it was, I must have stopped eating it since the dreams stopped. Damn, now I need to know if it was delicious or not... and when I do find out that it is, is it worth a trip back to Cannibal Old Space People's Haunted Mansion lane.

Well, I had the falling dream when I was about 6. I'm pretty sure I actually dreamt of the black pit, but there is a chance it was just a sudden sense of falling I would get when falling asleep, I'm not sure.

Oh god, Zombies...I remember within the past year, at least once I actually sat at the door and almost planned to go to sleep there, just so I could act as vain barricade for the zombies if they came and it would wake me up.

I used to dream a lot of deer.
Now I dream a lot about talking spiders. Its hard to get past their completely inhuman faces, but they make a lovely interlocutor.

When I was around 4 years old, I had a recurring dream that Dudley the Dragon was going to eat me. At 4, it was pretty scary, and I never watched that show again.

Well, I just found that I have the craziest dreams after eating spicy curry, then passing out in the afternoon. I usually wake up sweating a slightly disturbed so I'm blaming it on the indian food. A shame that I can't quit the stuff.

I dreamt that I was Dark lord of the playground at a family restaurant and it looked like something out of the Simpson's Halloween special. I would always get onto a climbing frame and get knocked off by a talking bat that was badly animated. I was young-er. I no longer have dreams, the last one I remember was a full three weeks ago and there was a deep psychological reason it happened (I was in serious shite with my friend who also happens to be my other friend's girlfriend)
