How will you play the newest red dead if you will get it or not, i myself will play it like an RP game, cause that is what i do..No matter what, i RP in games like GTA, i am just a bit odd that way i guess.

How will you play it? And what will you do in the game?

Me, i will find the first nighttime camp and sit there.

I will wait till it is available on the PC for £10 or less with out DRM. If this never happens then I will never play it.

I have been asking what I will do first in that game since it has been announced, and I have finally decided that I will try the main story first. I will probably do a lot of Free Roam and MP as well, though.

I probably won't be getting it. It hasn't really interested me since it was announced. I might wait for a price drop, and if I do get it, I'll play the way I would if I was in that setting.

Whenever i do get it I'll do what i always do play a few main missions then play tons of side missions to add up on money and other stats. Then go back and play story missions again.

Not really interested, for several reasons:

1. It's a Wild West game, which is in third place on my list of "Game Settings That Suck" (first place is World War 2, second place is Napoleonic Era).

2. It's a Rockstar game, and their track record is shaky at best. GTA series is the second most overrated pile of poop in gaming (first place going to Elder Scrolls: Oblivion). The promise of this being a GTA in the Wild West isn't giving me ANY hope.

3. Another sandbox game? Really? Didn't we have enough of those to last a lifetime?

4. And finally, no PC version? Well screw you, Rockstar!

Why the hate on the massively entertaining TES series? Oblivion is great! And why hating Wild West, too? Seems like an interesting time period.

Oh, I'm not hating TES. Daggerfall and Morrowind are some of my fondest gaming memories. Oblivion is simply a piece of crap. Poorly written, boring to look at, terrible game mechanics and an open world so uninteresting my back yard starts to look inviting.

As for Wild West, it's a cool place. Lots of awesome movies about it. However, games tend to fare poorly when set there. Call of Juarez was terrible, and that thing was actually lauded by critics as a good Wild West game. Overall, a cool setting but not for gaming.

Diarea could be a good setting for gaming, it is just how you make it that matters.
And for me it looks like Red Dead will be a great game, but well, time will tell.

I won't because they screwed the PC users out of a game .:(
Cry some more. You guys get mods and everything, and then whine when a great game doesn't come to PC.

OT: I'm going to play it like it wants me to. No glitches, no cheats (which R* likely put in), nothing game-breaking.

I'm assuming you're just being goofy, but..

This doesn't make any sense. I'll give you WW2, I'm pretty much with you on that one. However.. Napoleonic Era and Wild West setting? Yeah, because you know.. there is just a ton of games set in those time periods. Man, I wish they would stop releasing games set in the Napoleonic Era, I'm tired of that crap.

I couldn't be bothered to think of 3 wild west themed games that were ever worth it, in the past 10 years. I can think of Gun, and of course.. Red Dead. Not too amazing on their own, in my opinion. Redemption will be the first open-world Wild West themed game, ever.. and in my opinion, that is virtually the only way in which a Wild West game could work. That is what the Wild West is.. the frontier, notoriety, escaping, hiding, hunting. It's going to be a triple A knockout game.

The first thing I do in any open world game is get into a fist fight.

As for how I'll play it, probably as a 'Maverick'.

At least according to Rockstar.

I suppose I get what you're saying about the Wild West, and even though I disagree, I understand you're points. But saying Oblivion looks boring? I absolutely the detail of Oblivion's graphics, and the mechanics are fine imo. Perhaps I get what you're saying with "poorly written", the story honestly isn't very intriguing. But you can have unlimited fun in that game. That has to count for something.

Me and my friend got it all planned out.
One of us will grab the mayor of a town, tie him to a horse and then drag him around the town. In the meantime, the second one of us will ride behind the first one and try to shoot the mayor as he is being dragged.

We are still to come up with a name for this that might be the greatest game ever.

May I ask if you've tried any P&P RPGs set during the Wild West?
Nope, but by gaming I was reffering to computer gaming.

Not being goofy at all.

I dislike WW2 because it's beed done WAAAAAAY too many times.

I don't like Wild West because I think it fits poorly into video gaming.

I don't like Napoleonic Era (18th-19th century) because I dislike the warfare and weapons of that era. For god's sake, the main combat strategy was lining up and shooting at each other! Also, the uniforms...

I will give you one good point - the only way a Wild West game could truly work would be in an open world environment. However, I'm expecting a Wild West resking of GTA, and that doesn't sound too inviting.

I honestly had no fun whatsoever in that game. Zero. Zilch. It wasn't fun to build my character due to terrible leveling mechanics and uninteresting gear and items. It wasn't fun to explore because there was nothing interesting to see. It wasn't fun to play because the combat was dull. And there weren't any interesting characters or stories so that fell through as well.
