How will you play the newest red dead if you will get it or not, i myself will play it like an RP game, cause that is what i do..No matter what, i RP in games like GTA, i am just a bit odd that way i guess.

How will you play it? And what will you do in the game?

Me, i will find the first nighttime camp and sit there.
I will re-enact my favorite series :Deadwood.

To all you western-lovers out there this is a must see.

This game sounds fun. Maybe even 40 dollars fun. Personally the wild west is great although I kinda like wild west like moments in time. When the pirates would run rampent. When crime and gangs ruled the streets. Heck I myself is under the process of creating and active parallell between the nature of the wild west and the nature of the internet.

I don't know how well involved anyone is with information but for those who don't know why this is worth talking about angry joe makes a pretty good case here. http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/bt/aj/topreasons/21657-top-5-red-dead-redemption

If anything I would just like to see just how detailed all the experiences can be. And then test them all out in certain playthroughs. Oh. I can't wait to see what Mr. Crowshaw thinks of this.

There was a game released back in 1997 that captured my heart in the wild west- LucasArt's Out Laws.

The graphics were terrible even by 1997's standards but the setting really drew me in. The online multiplayer was fun as hell too.

*edit* I hope RDR can capture the same feeling I felt 13 years ago!

Not really interested, for several reasons:

1. It's a Wild West game, which is in third place on my list of "Game Settings That Suck" (first place is World War 2, second place is Napoleonic Era).

2. It's a Rockstar game, and their track record is shaky at best. GTA series is the second most overrated pile of poop in gaming (first place going to Elder Scrolls: Oblivion). The promise of this being a GTA in the Wild West isn't giving me ANY hope.

3. Another sandbox game? Really? Didn't we have enough of those to last a lifetime?

4. And finally, no PC version? Well screw you, Rockstar!
i agree with all those points although i think i'm still thinking about getting it... if i find it good enough.

As for Wild West, it's a cool place. Lots of awesome movies about it. However, games tend to fare poorly when set there. Call of Juarez was terrible, and that thing was actually lauded by critics as a good Wild West game. Overall, a cool setting but not for gaming.
Out of curiosity, did you play Red Dead Revolver? If so, what did you think of it?

I found it amazingly fun. The story was great, and there was plenty to do. Gameplay was near perfect. the game looked and felt like old west. Multiplayer with a few friends produced some wildly fun results.

Wild West is one of my favorite settings, though.

I do agree Call of Juarez was crap.

Fuck Aye! I'm getting a PS3 pretty much just to play this game.

I'll probably play it as a good guy first, but not a squeeky clean good guy, more like the Clint Eastwood in Unforgiven type good guy :)

I can't fuckin' wait. I'm a wild west fanatic.

I am devouring news about this game. Literally eating trailers whole. With this and L.A. Noire, (and that CIA game or whatever from R*) Rockstar are getting seriously into period drama and unexplored settings. I will play through it like I do in all games, whatever comes naturally to me in the setting and character I'm playing.
When online, I'll be a hard-hitting ass-kicker playing cowboys and indians the way men once did.

I won't because they screwed the PC users out of a game .:(
Cry some more. You guys get mods and everything, and then whine when a great game doesn't come to PC.

OT: I'm going to play it like it wants me to. No glitches, no cheats (which R* likely put in), nothing game-breaking.
Ya foreal look what all you get for TF:2 extra maps, weapons, achievements, and updates. we get nothing and if it ever does come out we have to pay for it. something happens that is different to PC gamers all hell brakes loose look at the MW2 fiasco way to go IW give them a taste of thier own medicine... Wow i needed that.

Don't forget we also get Ubisoft/Secu-ROM/other garbage DRM and Games For Windows Live, and horribly ported games (See- Saint's Row 2) . I think it balances out. And I've yet to hear of an SDK for any of the recent releases.

I'm looking forward to the co-op multiplayer the most. Forming a posse with a bunch of friends and robbing a bank looks like loads of fun.

Some of my friends intend to get someone we know in a game then spend ages dragging him around. Gaming pranks ftw!

yeah it's always nice to Roleplay in coop or multi, when the other players are also willing... i remember having made a NRJ900 biker gang by improvisation, and all 5 of us taking on the major roads and highways on Liberty City (GTA4) good moment...

You know, I never even thought about Red Dead's multiplayer, at all. I've only been looking forward to the epic frontier free-roam.

At least I know it has multiplayer though. I got GTA4 on release day, had a blast for a while, then looked on the cell phone and saw "multiplayer" and was like, wtf? Entered multiplayer, went into a free roam game, and did that for about 2 years. Nothing could beat being able to drive around an entire city shooting into other player's car windows, setting up ambushes, stunts.. amazing. Surprised me.

Red Dead will surprise me too, I imagine.

People saying they don't like the Wild West setting, but I don't think that period has ever been properly represented in modern games. Rockstar are making a huge leap forward in this genre with the game world, the engine, the characters and the exploration.

Oh, and the multiplayer looks fucking nuts
