Kinda neat if you ask me. It's apparently not far from erupting actually.

Ooh, this is interesting. I haven't heard of an eruption in North America in a while, and Yellowstone Park is the only thing close.

And if Yellowstone really blows, the US is réally screwed.

Anyway, this is both disturbing and interesting. I might witness (kind of) a volcanic eruption totally live! I'll keep an eye on this. *opens the Twitter page and turns on CNN*

Isn't yellow stone park supposed to be one giant volcano? Like 10 times bigger then any other anywhere? I saw a crappy made for TV movie about it once and when bored I looked into it a little bit.

Apparently it's called a "super volcano" and if it ever erupts it'll wipe out most of the seaboard.

Fortunately for us, it's sloooooowwwwly moving westward. In a few thousand years, it'll be in the middle of the ocean. Until then, let's enjoy the mineral deposits and geisers.

If Yellowknife blows, it won't matter. There will be enough ash to lower the temperature of the planet several degrees, and depending on the air current, it will likely be devastating to agricultural economies.

Ohhhhh Dear, so in other words America's pretty fucked right now, since that Volcano will erupt in the near or distant future...

Well, Yellowstone isn't exactly in the U.S. It's in Canada, and the wins rarely travel south. And it's moving West. The longer it goes, the less damage the U.S. will receive.

Pretty much yes, actually the whole North American continent is MAJORLY fucked and the whole planet will be pretty much fucked, especially (as pointed out) agricultural countries. Prepare for global famine. But the US, Mexico, Canada, but especially the US will be even móre fucked. *ahem* Well that's a lot of "fucked", anyway, it doesn't matter a lot that it's slowly moving west, the eruption will be way too powerfull for that to matter. And if it matters...well, just think about the fact that that means it'll move closer to Vancouver and Seattle. That ain't réally nice. To illustrate:

I have to ask you a question... Are you high?

Everyone, this guy is high. YellowStone is in the states. Algonquin park is in Canada. No volcanoes, no old faithful, just trees, and deer.

And marijuana crops.

I apologize. It's been a few years since I saw any big news about Yellowstone. There is definitely a good chance I mixed its location with Yellowknife.

Actually, I did do just that. I mentioned Yellowknife earlier. *facestapler* Thank you for noticing. I certainly didn't!

Not really, you're only "less fucked" then the one's who are smack down in the middle ;-) The whole planet will feel that.
