Today I was visiting Imperial College (looking for Universities to go to and all that), when, in the basement of one of the buildings, I came upon a small room. Above the door was a sign bearing the words 'Beware of the Leopard'. Now, it wasn't a disused lavatory, and the stairs and lights seemed to be intact and disappointingly usable, but it was still a nice surprise.

Near where I live, someone had crossed out the name of a the village on the sign and changed it to Royston Vasey...made me chuckle.

Well, it's hardly an obscure for a reference, but it was done pretty subtly so I think it's worth mentioning: I loved the reference to Return of the Jedi in Toy Story 3. No one I talked to after noticed it though...

I was in a room and saw the writing on the wall: "Follow the white rabbit." I went outside ant there it was, looking on it's watch and shouting he was out of time. I've been so busy lately that I couldn't find the time either. I fell down a hole looking for it.
There I saw Alice in chains and didn't know what to make of it. Untill Foghorn Leghorn showed up and was afraid he would be killed.

In London, I saw someone had scribbled 'PHANTASMAGORIA!' on the wall of an alley. I am dead serious. I don't know if it was the reference I thought it was, but I damn well hope so.

I just looked that up on Wikipedia (assuming you're talking about the game), and... who the fuck came up with those scenes? How graphic is it?
