It just sounds like loads of people trying to make something sound cool and deep where there is nothing like that to be had, like an art critique claiming a black canvas with a white dot in it shows passion and depth about how it symbolizes the meaning of life ... or some crap like that. It's a just a black piece of paper with a dot of the opposite colour in it, any moron putting no thought into could do that but I am rambling now.
It's partly due to market oversaturation. For anyone who doesn't care about My Little Pony, when the craze began earlier this year it got annoying very fast being bombarded by about 5 threads a day asking whats the deal with ponies, and another 5 discussing assinine show related stuff. Add to that the pictures (some of which were generally funny, but like all memes they get old the third or forth time you see them, and by the tenth time you begin to hate seeing them.)
It's the same with any piece of media, look at how Deadpool is now viewed: if a Deadpool movie came out a few years ago there would have been many hardcore fans raving about how awesome it was and how great a character he is, but if one came out now they would be the people complaining about how they are sick of seeing Deadpool, because he pops up everywhere now, and the novelty of the character has been lost by seeing him rehashed so many times.
Long story short: The craze came out of nowhere, quite aggressively forcing everyone to partake in their memes and in-jokes, so to show their unwillingness to take part people react with an equally extreme bent to hate on the show.

I don't hate it, and I'm not knocking anyone who enjoys the show and it's little ponies (hell, I have a good friend on Xbox Live who can't get enough of the show), but for me, it's over-saturation. Much like Touhou Project, it's everywhere, but at least one won't get laughed at and be called mean names since it's obvious that MLP is a cartoon (whereas to the average person looking at a bunch of Touhou stuffs, chances are they'd think it was an anime instead of a game).
Couple that with me not having any interest in the show whatsoever, and after a while it starts to get overbearing. Again, I'm not knocking anyone who enjoys the show - I'm simply going to be quiet, turn the other way, and go the fuck on about my business.

The show in the 80s was to sell us toys but everyone knew it was for small girls while this one exist just to leach off nostalgia.

Just because a show is popular or has a tarnished reputation from before-times doesn't necessarily make it bad. Look at the Batman movies - after Batman & Robin, who would think that Batman Begins would be a return to form?
I don't make fun of other people's music, TV or film tastes. Leave it be. Some bronies labour the point too much, but those on the Escapist are some of the most intelligent forumites I've seen (also subtle). Brings a bit of class to the already pretty classy joint.

I'll be honest, some of the fan stuff of seen of MLP: FiM is entertaining, fun and even inspired. Other things HORRIFY me, they're like Lovecraft's wet dreams or something. I can see where the hate stems from, too much of anything is bad even if it's just seeing the same kind of avatars over and over. I like MLP, I've watched a couple of the shows and have seen a fair amount of the PMV's and music remixes on YouTube. I am not a Brony as far as I know, but I could be wrong in that. Simply put, the hate of MLP stems not from the show itself, but some fans who took it way too far. Not all fans, not half of the fans, just some that's all.
But I've said this before and I'll say it again:
If you don't like, don't bash others for liking it. Just ignore it.

Point of my post was how eff'ing annoying the fans are either way. Also if someone is arguing for something he isn't a fan of he is a moron. Point is fans of anything are annoying, starwars, startrek, ponies, pokemon, final fantasy.
