Hey guys

I was wondering if anyone can give me a bit of info regarding regions on the PS3? As far as I have been able to tell there shouldn't be any problems if I buy a game in the UK when I live in Denmark. Is this right? Will the game play?
Seeing as I just discovered that I can get it at half the price I kinda hope I can save some money, but I want to be sure before I cough up the green.
Anyone know anything about this?

No. Actually I was wondering about that. (Had to find a game and see what it said)
But is it because the PAL games and NTSC are not compatible on the inverse system? Must admit I know nothing of this mess. :)

This doesn't explain why games still carry the PAL/NTSC marks on the backs.
do you even know what PAL and NTSC are?

they have nothing to do with region locking, PAL is the euro standard for tv broadcast, NTSC is the north american and Japanese standards for tv broadcast, France and a couple other places use SECAM

Uh hello? PAL and NTSC is perfectly relevant to region locking, that's why the one region on games won't run on the other and the other way around unless you chipped your console. TV format is irrelevant to this (as all it does is change the FPS on the games).

If it's a PS3 game or a Blu-ray, you should be fine.

that is wrong. PAL and NTSC display formats have NOTHING to do with region locking. i can play PAL dvds on my dvd player if i want, that was without a region lock on it

PAL and NTSC deal with the display resolution of tvs. this also affects vhs tapes and plain old television shows that aren't region locked like dvds

region locking is dvd only, PAL and NTSC is tv broadcast only. much like both europe and north america run on different electrical currents
