Region to region, there are different cultures ranging from how one is expected to act in social situations, how one speaks to others depending on their familiarity to that person and even how they dress. The last one is one that I really noticed over the weekend while I was in Utah for one of my brothers wedding. Being from the Pacific Northwest (Washington and Oregon), I was dressed in my normal dark toned clothes but I started to feel out of place amongst all the people dressed in their bright clothing, even on the plane going home I could tell which people would likely be continuing on to Portland on our way to our stop over in Albuquerque because of how they were dressed (wasn't 100% accurate, closer to 90%).

Because of this I started to think about the differences between my region and the other regions I've visited. For example in addition to how people dress, I also have noticed that if you're in Portland Oregon, riding the bus you can strike up a conversation with some random stranger, however in some of the other areas, all you get is maybe a grunt or a nod of the head and you both go about your ride. Also the Pacific NW is a casual place, shorts and t-shirts are a normal everyday clothing for people of all ages, and if you're talking to someone, the conversations tend to be pretty casual.

So, tell me about the culture of your area, you don't have to tell me everything, just a few things that you think are unique about your region.

This is kinda true, unless it's raining or snowing to an extent where it's life-threatening to go outside without insulation.

Shorts aren't quite as common up north near the Canadian border, as the temperature tends to be quite cool, but I know people who wear shorts daily to school, no matter the season or weather.

Pacific NW, hooray. I am one of the most northwest people in the continental USA.

I am incredibly not well-traveled, so I don't have much input. Soorrry.
