So I had my last day of school ever yesterday. You'd think I'd be over the moon but I'm not. I spent most of my day alone watching and hearing about everyone else having a great time. The thing that bugs me is that I know that I had I not changed schools two years ago I would've had a great day, in fact I would've had a great year. I try not to worry about the past but this is something that has really gotten to me.

So I have two questions

1) Ever made a decision that you've really ended up regretting?

2) How do you stop these mistakes bothering you?
well, lets do this in reverse order shal we?
ergo, nubmer 2 first.
2:How do you stop these mistakes bothering you?
by accepting everything you do, and their concequenses. you dont have to LIKE them. all you have to do is accept that your human, your YOU and you did this or that.
for, acceptance, is also the first step to un-doing wrongs etc.
in your case, not changing schools, is something which, might seem like something stupid to DO, but you cant realy blame yourself for not doing something for yourself.
i mean, you cant have known for SURE that the other option was better.
becaus EVERYTHING wold have been different, and you now have, for one, probably a better grasp of yourself, and how to deal with meh-ness then if you would have hadd happy-go-luck from day 1.

hope im clear enough, do give a shout if you need more clear info.

now on to number 1: stuff i regret.
i reget well. having been like i was in the first few months in the relationship with my girlfriend.
nothing i could have done about it though, because i did deal with it.. it just took time.
( and there wasent a problem when she was not there yet so.. jeah, its more regretting something that could not having beend done any other way XD

sorry for the wall of lines people!

"We dont regret the things we do, but the things we dont"

This kinda affects me, as I didnt ask someone something early on, which is technically me regretting not asking earlier

and I generally end up depressed, I have a mindfuck condition anyway so alot of the time im upset. Its just alot worse now than ever.

I don't. I can always ponder about things like what if's and did or didn't, but I'll never know the alternative outcome of it (and maybe even those could result in regret). That and I always keep in mind that I think things trough with what I know about the situation before my do's and dont's. The result isn't always in my hands.

I find it's easier to regret the things you have done, rather than the things you haven't. In other words it sucks regretting that you never got to do something, when you know you could have. In most cases I think it's way better regretting something you actually did, even though it turned out to be a mistake.

My last three major regrets are/were:

1. My ex-girlfriend
2. Taking up smoking
3. Asking out a friend of many years only to be shot down in flames.

I coped with them by, in order:

1. Got the fuck out of that relationship and nuked the bridge from orbit.
2. Giving up cold-turkey after a few months after realising how much I stank of cigarettes.
3. Asked if we could ignore that it ever took place and if we could staty friends. We've been closer ever since.

Anyway, to combat the regrets, just grab them by the balls and tackle them head on in the most efficient fashion.

And I most definitely regret that the corp just blew up our raggedy ass Fleet.

OOH RAH!
Bwahaha!

I love you.

OT: I, like some people here, regret not punching certain people when I had the chance.

1. Yes. It isn't so much regret as it just has been coming back to haunt me for two or three straight years now.

2. I don't. I try to run. I hang out with friends. I work. I get drunk. In the end I sit in my room, in the dark at 1 am thinking about it. My advice is to move on. It just sounds like you had a bad day. If that is the worst your regret has done then you really should just forget about it.

I have none. I am who I am because of my decisions. I learn from my mistakes and move on. I cherish every memory that I have as if it's a special treasure.

Honestly the more I try to not dwell on such things, the more I dwell on such things. So I just go with the flow and move on eventually.

I regret nothing because at one point in my life I wanted it and liked it

Even if it seems like a shit thing to do now...

To regret is to chain yourself to the past, and give it power over you.

Are there things I that, in retrospect I should have done differently? Of course.

To learn from the past is to better your resolve to the future.

I have no regrets, only experience.

My first girlfriend, not moving to Ontario, a few other things.

People might say they hold no regrets, but I think it's just human instict to wonder if things could have gone differently.

The thing is, I'm going through a shit ton of personal drama right now and I keep thinking that if I'd moved a few years back it never would have happened. however, I can't guarantee that. Maybe if you'd not changed schools something would have gone down at the other school that fucked you up worse. Accept the past for that happened, and know that it could have easily gone the same any other way you spin it
