Rejected Pokemon Nicknames

Since online play, Nintendo's imposed some rules on what you can and can't nickname your little guys.

Since the latest release, I'm sure a few of you have gotten the "you can't enter that word" message. But sometimes it's a bit surprising what isn't allowed.

I couldn't name my Roselia "Prick" (fair enough I guess).
I couldn't name my Voltorb "Bullshock" (a combination of "bullshit" and "shock")
I couldn't name my Grimer "AIDS Puddle" (but "Ebola Puddle" got through just fine).

I can't remember the full wealth of other examples I've experienced.

What about you guys?

Welp, there is one that still pisses my friend off so much: Thumper.
In Gen VI you can trade someone for a Steelix named Thumper. Well guess what, you can't name your pokemon Thumper at all because it's deemed inappropriate. See I understand that games for younger audiences need censors, but Nintendo goes way overboard.

An example of this, in Smash Bros for the 3DS and Wii U, you can't named your Mii Fighters Adam. Adam, you know an actual name many people have. The reason, because it contains the same letters that can spell "damn".

Well, that certainly prevents Feetis Thumper. Good thing, too - that's even worse! Can you name a Wailord Gailord? What about Dixie Normus? Huge Jydeot? Browntown? Tunafist?

I hope someone makes a list for compiling and generating risqué Pokémon names, because it sounds like a potentially amusing challenge. I could squeeze at least a few good hours of entertainment out of a feature like that.

On Bulbapedia there are terms that are banned when it comes to Pokemon names. They are separated by languages as well, with the list consisting of English, German, Japanese, and Korean.

Since I like to name my Pokemon after bands, songs, and albums, I was going to name my Vespiquen "Killer Queen". Nooooope, can't use the words "kill" or "killer".

And far too many things have an unusable "ass" hidden in them somewhere.

Really? I've never noticed, but that's really annoying. No kills? That's obnoxious.

Slave Labour isn't accepted, though I got around this by making the lower case "L" in slave be an upper case "I", since they simply use a straight line in the games. Bet the guys I wondertrade them to where not expecting that.

this inspired me today gonna flood GTS and/or wonder trade with dittos with naughty names I can slip past the radar so far collected:

Blue Waffle, lemonparty, RedLightdis., winknudgex2 ( reference to a "dirty monty python skit), Handbanana (ATH reference)
sxy beast, vibestick,s3xsIave, pntsnhdrtd (pants on head retarded minus the vowels), lilbassturd

edit: starting to have trouble thinking of names now

Edit2: and wonder trade is down/overcrowded right now

I never really nicknamed my Pokes until X/Y, are things like Satan and Beelzebub safe? (I name nearly all my Pokes after Megami Tensei demons)

I'm looking through the list of censored words [http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_censored_words_in_Pok%C3%A9mon_Black_and_White_Versions] and some of em are really something...

[sub][sub]I'm sad I can't name a Poke Hitler...[/sub][/sub]
I get where you are coming from gen 4 on I give my team food related names

example my current team
Habanaro , saffron, watercress sesame, rasberry (need a better name for him), and taro

bonus point if you can guess what they are (hint: Habanaro is my starter)

My friend tried to name her trainer Violet. Then Viola, and Violetta.
All rejected.

I haven't played Pokemon since Red, where my Bulbasaur Pisspot and my Arcticuno Rapist cleaned up the competition hardcore. I also gamed at school where I traded for a girl's Kadabra, Pedo.

Them was the days I guess.

That may be because viola/violar is Spanish for "rape".
That makes sense. Although, the censor should only apply if that language is selected, and if it were English and still denying it then something is wrong.

I just saw this tumblr post (no don't get me to look it up again as I competely forgot where it came from) that they don't accept the word "ravioli" in any of their Nintendo games (like Animal Crossing) at all.

I think it tied in to what Johnny Novgorod had comment.

Not a pokemon's nickname, per say, but in ORAS I wanted to name my secret base team "The Pikachupacapra" Clever right? Too clever for Nintendo, apparently, cuz they wouldn't allow it. Filthy goat-suckers.

Maybe it ties in with the English word "violate", which implies abuse and/or rape.

Perhaps, although if that is the case then their censor is terrible. Then again, as I've said before this is the same censor that doesn't allow you to name your Mii Fighter Adam... >.>
