So I've been looking around the internet for the last week or so for a solid release date for the DL game "From Dust" on PS3.

It's already been released on the 360, and a PC release is expected around August 17th.

The PS3? Oh, well, it's sometime in September. No day specified, just the general month.

I don't know why there's a huge gap between the release dates, but I'll give em' the benefit of the doubt and assume that there's some issues coding the game for the respective platforms.

I still suspect that Microsoft pulled one of their bullshit 'pay a few million dollars to have it several months early' boners.

And having said that, I expect no less than a dozen "well, we pay for XBL, so it's justified" posts. Which are also bullshit, since PSN has PS+ which a lot of people subscribe to, and is a paid subscription.

Discussion material: What are your thoughts on release date differences?

Blargh. I'm tired, hungry and having a bad couple of days. There's my excuse for the sour attitude.

Off topic: Escapist, can we please ditch the 'Captcha things now? They're getting really freaking annoying, and I don't recall ever having any problems with spam before them. Just sayin'.

The reason so many games are often ported between the 360 and the PC within a relatively short time of one another is just a result of the 360's architecture being very similar to that of a PC whereas the PS3 is off doing its own thing.

True often times there are timed exclusivity deals and the like, but in the case of smaller games like this is usually just a matter of time and effort.

That's all. No grand conspiracy or the like. Just takes a bit longer for a game to be ported to the PS3 if it hasn't been designed from the start with that in mind.
