Screwed over again? Maybe. Pissed off? Of course!
I don't know why but the release dates of games and movies don't have worldwide releases any more. Not as much as they used to have. It happens over and over again.
Borderlands will be released 20th of October, in America... 23th in Europe and to be announced in Australia.

I've never gotten this. Is it that the shipping time is long? No, they have copies of the game inside the stores a couple of days before release. The only answer i can think of is that the publishers are stabled in America and want to give their citizens a taste of the game before anyone else. Just like Arkham Asylum.
It stings to see gameplay videos and "Awesome game ending! SPOILER WARNING!" videos on youtube a week before the "Awesome game" is released. It's just something you have to accept, like a sad fact.

But what happened when Killzone 2 was released? 3 Days earlier in Europe than the rest of the world. Killzone fans in America wore outraged, i read several forum posts about how disappointed fans felt let down and wore feeling somewhat like -> "I WILL NEVER BUY THIS GAME IF YOU TREAT US LIKE THIS!"

I felt like this was a victory for me, but again. 3 Bloody days! I could have been waiting 3 days just to see a worldwide release to avoid this "Killzone 2 will suck because it's not worldwide" shit and what about Rock band? A year between the releases in Us and Eu, reason? Legal issues! Guitar hero fans wore pissed about it and it only sold a fragment of what it was supposed to sell!

What is your view on the situation?

I dont see why people get so worked up about release dates, I mean as long as you get the game eventually does it really matter? I can understand people getting furious over games like Duke Nukem: Taking bloody forever. But 3 days on Killzone 2? 3 days? Are you people fucking serious? It's only three days, that's absolutely nothing and does it really matter if a country gets it a few days before you guys? In the long run it means fuck all. Im english and they usually release games a few days or even weeks after the Americans and Japanese, I couldn't care less as long as were getting the same game in the plastic wrap that I love so very very much.

I don't seem to remember anyone getting that upset about Killzone 2. Either way, I really don't think it's that hard to release games simultaneously in different countries, seeing as all the game stores have copies a week before the game comes out anyway. Same with movies.

Any time US release dates are after the rest of the world I smile a little bit, I'm so use to being screwed over on prices (seriously the same game ordered from the UK inc. postage is between $30-40AUD cheaper) and release dates here in Australia it doesn't phase me anymore, but watching the American's get all steamed up is amusing, just a little bit of what we deal with all the time.

It might be the censoring. Since Australia has tight censors, it might take time to change the game to get approval. Same with Germany. Other than this tohugh, I got nothing.
This.

And there are plenty of games that do it in reverse... seems like your trying to make up problems here.
