Remakes for today.

Just wondering, for Play Stations network, or LIVE ARCADE, what are some old school games (Genesis, SNES) that you would love to see remade from the ground up?

Give us the name, original system, and a BRIEF idea on how to remake it while keeping the core style in tact and fun amongst todays games. (tell a bit of the game if you want, or have us look it up)

Mine, for instance?

Shadowrun, for the SNES.

Loved this game so freaking much, and I think you could still achieve the game play of the original simply by using Resident Evil 4's gameplay. (stand in place when aiming to shoot).

The game would benefit from a remake, weather and ambiance added making for an amazing deja vu-esque experience.

Commander Keen 1 through 6. The original console was PC, as is any game following. As for how it should be remade... Firstly, don't change the story. Secondly, adapt for console controls. (Movement with D-Pad, Jump with RB or something, shoot with B, and enable pogo with A). Upgrade graphics, so it's like Trials HD or something, then release for 1200 MS points for all 6. Remaking 7/3.5 carries the death penalty.

Maybe remake Hocus Pocus as well. Again, with graphics.

And Duke Nukem. Yet again with graphics. (1 & 2. 3D was shit, and ruined the series)

And perhaps Age of Empires. With graphics. For PC.

TMNT: Tournament Fighters...................revamped for PS3 ,360, and Wii. Maybe SSFIV style.

None. Just a port with maybe some graphic updates is all I need. Remakes are a waste of time and only pander to people who do not appreciate fun. Some games I would want ported however, to XBLA, would be Mystical Ninja starring Goemon, and its sequal, and maybe some Japan only ones. Also Ogre Battle would be nice since I cant seem to get it for the N64. And the origional Rogue Squadron.

Balder's Gate II

Doesn't need a remake. It's still one of the best RPGs to date, if not *the* best.

And I'm still playing it to this day. Literally, today.

Kicking a Chaotic Neutral Rogue.

As for what I think...fuck it, I don't want any remakes, I just want to see a re-release of Jet Set Radio Future.

That's really all I want. Everything else can get filed under "Sequel or put it to bed forever and leave as it is."

Erm.

Why? Star Fox's core gameplay hasn't evolved since its inception. Seriously, all you need to do is improve the framerate and graphics and you've got-OH WAIT. They did that. It's called Star Fox 64.

It's like Star Fox for the SNES, but better.

That's a nicely done mock-up cover.

Though frankly I bet they'd ruin it much like Re-Shelled.

Frankly I'd like to see a few more Cabal-like games. It would work well with the Wii, or possibly the Move. Never cared for Sin and Punishment.
