Remakes?

Hey, Just wondering, What old game, if any, would you like to see remade? Games from say the PS1 or N64 and earlier generations as well. What games do you think came before their time? Or maybe they just came before anyone would notice them? What old game do you think deserves a complete overhaul remake on a current gen console?

Why put the effort into a remake when you could go out and make a brand new game that you already haven't beaten half a dozen times.

This might a bit newer than you want, but I would remake Prince of Persia Sands of Time on the PS3 using the Assassin's Creed engine, and update the combat to make it like Warrior Within.

Sorry to be a writing cliché, but remakes of Final Fantasy VII and Metal Gear Solid would get my 120 Gils. Would love to play the original Super Mario 3 again, although I probably wouldn't feel the same playing it as I did 18 (somewhat) years ago.

Agreed this would make one of the best games the world has ever seen. As long as they use the exact same dialog from the original game.

As for remakes, if done properly can be great ie. Resident Evil, but it can go horribly wrong.

Which one? The original Metal Gear? Because, people often shorten the longer ones with just 'Metal Gear.' Although I do agree that they should redo the very first Metal Gear.

I have a lot of old PC games I'd love to see remade. Tie Fighter, The Journeyman Project series, The Wingman series, the Homeworld series. To many to list really. I always play them every once in a while and I can't help feeling they would be better if they were remade today.
