So, Guy Fawkes night is coming up. Yup, the 5th of November. It's also known as Bonfire night, Cracker night and fireworks night..according to Wikipedia. Anyways, are anyone doing something that night? Celebrating or something? I'm not gonna do so much, just watch V for Vendetta, and eat some candy leftovers from Halloween.

I only know that rhyme because I used to compulsively watch V for Vendetta, ahem:
"Remember remember the 5th of November
the Gunpowder treason and plot
I know of no reason
why the gunpowder treason should ever be forgot"
But what of the man, a man can be killed.... {insert V for Vendetta script here}

I always hated the big shows they put on in the city centres. Too loud (I know that's kind of the point, but I don't care)
I prefer the ones made for little children, that's scary enough for me.
I didn't realise Guy Fawkes was coming up, I should make a special avatar for the occasion...

I'll most likely just watch V for Vendetta again... hmm, maybe incite some anarchy in school for the very special occasion. However, nothing too grand can be done, what with examinations around the corner. That, and I can't find a Guy Fawkes mask... anyone know where to find a Guy Fawkes mask in the Sydney Metropolis?

I found some masks around the Interweb, there are many of them on Amazon.

Thanks. I won't be able to get the mask, unfortunately, since the folks aren't to happy about buying stuff off the Interblarg. Still, thanks.

On this day and age, every passing 5th of November is an insult to Guy Fawkes.

The world is corrupt. Rotten.

don't celebrate it over here at all, most ppl don't even know who he is
That is a good point, I'd never thought of it before. I'm from England and the Guy Fawkes rhyme that 'needausername' only learnt from V for Vendetta was taught to us from an early age. Legal issues have since changed this but when I was growing up we burnt a life-size doll of Guy Fawkes on a bonfire.

Without trying to sound condescending, do those from other countries actually know why Bonfire Night happens and the Guy Fawkes incident? In addition do/did you burn a Guy Fawkes on the bonfire, if you even have a bonfire at all?

Bah, I thought V for Vendetta was a kind of stupid movie. Trying to bring significance to something long past, and long insignificant.
