I miss the ol days of Gaming. Myst, Kings Quest Series, Zork, etc. Those games where it put a bit of thought into overcoming and Winning. These days a good adventure game can be hard to come by. Anyone have any suggestions? Something with a good storyline and awesome characters!

Have you played any of Yathzee's adventure games?
Try "Adventures in the Galaxy of Fantabulous Wonderment" if you want something really silly.
But if you're more in the mood for a horror spin, play the Chzo Mythos ("5 Days a Stranger," "7 Days a Skeptic," "Trilby's Notes," and "6 Days a Sacrifice").
Not perfect games, but damn good.

I havent actually. Anything new besides That Vampire story thingy i havent played.
Twilight: The Movie: The Game? I heard that one's got a lot of grinding, which is kinda counter-intuitive.

Amnesia was a close fit

If you are willing to go up against some classic adventure (read: tank) controls: The Feeble Files, Space Quest, Beneath a Steel Sky, Dragonsphere, Simon the Sorcerer, Dark Fall (series), Black Mirror (series), Sherlock Holmes (series), Dreamfall: The Longest Journey

If you are willing to go up against some classic FMV cheese: Phantasmagoria, Police Quest (1-4), Tex Murphy (series)

If you are willing to go up against some disturbing levels of awesome: I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream (emphasis on the distributing), Personal Nightmare, Broken Sword (series), The Next Big Thing, Gabriel Knight (series), The Last Express, The Longest Journey

I agree with most of those.
Longest Journey in particular and Gabriel Knight (except the third one, good story but clunky and the voice acting was terrible)

Syberia was very good. The third one is supposed to be out this year :D Can't wait.

I too miss those days. The DS actually has a pretty surprising amount of classic adventure games on it. For that matter, it's got a shocking amount of brutal old, old, OLD, school rpgs on it as well.

Oh DS. I love you.

Which, incidentally, has been released as freeware and can be found at ScummVM.org [http://scummvm.org]. (ScummVM is an emulator that will let you play old DOS-era adventure games from LucasArts and a few other developers on a modern system with few or no problems. You still have to have the original game files for any of the non-freeware games, though.)
