So I'll probably be attending a Renaissance Fair at least once this year... and since it'll be around Halloween... and since Halloween is favorite holiday... and since I'm a nerd.. I'm thinking of dressing up.

I kinda want to dress up as a Witcher. Though not Geralt exactly, but the clothing style. Like some nice brown leather-looking stuff.

Anyone know of some good places to buy stuff for a costume like that? Brick & Mortar store? Online?

Basic leather costumes you could probably get done up at a tailors for a reasonable price. Otherwise if you want to pay a bit and save ALOT of time, ebay's a good way to go when it comes to quick cosplay outfits.

This one can be a bit on the pricey side.

I like the selection they have better.

As far as tailoring with leather, that can really depend on the quality of leather, and even then...it can get expensive. I know this first hand as I'm in the SCA (Society for Creative Anacronism) and dress in period clothing for every event. If you have the money to dump and plan to do it more than once a year, then invest in quality. If you're looking for something cheap...look for a halloween store online or something. Unless cost doesn't matter one way or another.

Dress as Altair. Historically no one can call you on it (I think i like history but Midevil times really don't interest me for some reason)

look museum replicas limited, they generally have a good selection of costumes. Quality wise they're decent although not perfect. But if you want a perfect costume, expect to pay a lot of money for it, or spend a lot of time making it yourself.

Personally, my girlfriend and i go to Ren Faires all the time, like four or five a year, and i always dress in traditional samurai clothing. Mainly to portray a woman disguised as a man. But thats just me, and my heritage :p

I really hope this is sarcasm. As a person that practices a hobby with historical accuracy...I could call him on it easily. There are many things that would seem accurate, I can assure you that there are many inaccuracies. On the other hand, "Ren Faires" are scripted anyways.
