I rent from gamefly but have actually bought quite a few used games from them too. So i was thinking do most people end up buying or renting games?

I usually just buy games. I probably should rent games more to save money, seeing as how many of my games are just sitting here now because I usually never play a game twice. But then there's also the time constraints of having to finish the game before I have to return it (although I guess I wouldn't need to with gamefly, right? I'm talking more the traditional renting from blockbuster type deal - although they recently did away with late fees too, didn't they?)

I don't play enough different games to rent them. I used to, but don't anymore. I think this is because the majority of games out there simply do not interest me in the slightest.

I buy games because I am a terribely disorganised person, if I rent a game I can be certain I won't finish it before it needs to go back. And end up with late charges

Both. If there is a game that I know I will play alot (Halo 3, CoD4, Saints Row, etc.) then I buy it. If it is a game I'm not sure I will like, or just need something to break things up a bit without spending a gazillion dollers, then I rent.

Always buy. Unless I rent and never return...which ends up costing me the purchase price of the game.

Since my bioshock nightmare I always (with very few exceptions) rent Console games before buying them. Id do the same with PC games, cept the PC games industry still doesnt seem to comprehend the concept of "renting" & instead insists on flogging their demos which are usually as informative as a CGI rendered promo video.

I don't bother renting. I always do my "homework" first I.E. checking up a dozen reviews, reading customer complaints and such, watch a few video's of it, ect...

I get used games but i don't like that feeling that you got the game, but someone else used it before you. I like my disks smelling fresh and new without that semen smell from someone who just had a brilliant time playing the game.

always buy, but buy second hand for as cheap as unreasonably possible.

£4.50 for CoD4? that'll do nicely...

yea. i buy way too many games. renting is so much better, i can usually beat it if i take my time. but game that require more attention (non FPS) i normally buy, or get used. recently i bought the new worms game for the wii. biggest waste of money. im renting from now on

I've always been more inclined to rent than buy. I've made collections of games and dvd's but they always just sat there collecting dust. Occasionally I do wish Netflix had a keep it feature like Gamefly. That's only way I've bought a game in years. I'm considering keeping Rainbow Six Vegas since it's only $40. I could always sell it back when I beat it. Speaking of that, has anyone tried gamefly's trade-in yet?

I've usually bought the games, as I do my homework 'bout the game first, before buying. Though, I have borrowed games on occasion (I borrowed Fable), but, I think I'll stick with buying. I dunno, it's just something I wanna do.

Borrow a friend's game first to see if I like it, or I'll just buy it. I haven't rented games for years. There's not too many places around here that even have games for the Xbox or PS2 for rent anymore.

Buy, Rent is like, "Blah I want this, but I need money." If a buy game is crap, pawn it for 20 bucks to a kid in the neighborhood.
