So, in spite of some of the Dragon Age: Origins [http://www.blueinkalchemy.com/2010/02/07/oh-just-end-already/], I'm playing it again. And I know it won't be the last time.

My wife and I like to discuss different things we like about the game, other ways we plan on playing it, and even toss dialog from the game back and forth at one another. If that's not an endorsement, I don't know what is.

I'm also starting up a new Mass Effect play-through, but I'll probably finish my Orange Box review series as well as Assassin's Creed 2 before I really dedicate myself to putting another Infiltrator through the paces of Insanity. There's a lot to be said for a game's design, though, if I'm willing to put myself through the stickier bits just to enjoy a particular scene or storyline again. Fallout 3 is another candidate for a repeat play-through, provided I can find a way to afford all of the DLC. I think I'd need a magic cauldron or something.

I've thought about the replay value of some older games, as well. StarCraft, Full Throttle, Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines, pretty much any of the Wing Commander games... they're all games I've played multiple times, and even with the gift of hindsight and more advanced simulations at my disposal, I'd happily play any of them again.

Share your thoughts with me, folks. What games have you encountered that, after playing them through, maybe even years ago, you'd really enjoy playing again? What gives a game replay value for you?

Pretty much most of what you mentioned I would and have replayed. I've played so much Fallout 3 that it somehow makes it into at least 60% 63% of my posts on here.

But I'll also replay things that have a pretty exceptional multi-player experience. I've even gone so far as to buy copies of certain games for friends of mine who have sold their copy at some point in the past. Then they can't sell it again, or I make them feel guilty as hell. ;)

For single player games, if the story is compelling I often want to experience it again. It never has the same feel as the first time, but it is still enjoyable. Like re-reading a favorite book.

A friend of mine is trying to guilt me into Borderlands, in point of fact. ;) I think I might be on the lookout for the next Steam sale, to get Team Fortress 2 on the PC so I can play with others that I know from here.

I agree on single-player games being like re-reading a good book. You know when the good bits are coming, and they still put a smile on your face.

Yes. I look forward to meeting Zevran each time through DA. He's such a cheeky fellow. The first encounter with him always makes me grin. And I still get excited when I go through the Omega 4 Relay in ME2.

Borderlands is lots of fun on multiplayer. You should give it a go. Not that I'm trying to talk you into it or anything...

I'd play Dragon Age again if it weren't for that horrible section in the Deep Roads that made me want to kill myself. For replay value, I think it's good, but unless there's a random skirmish or multiplayer mode it's hard for story-oriented games as it's boring-er the second time round.

KotOR, without question.
Even without the endless number of mods, I'd play it the original way, because it's so awesome.
Which I've done. Many times.

I'm replaying Fallout 3 aswell. Hopefully I'll finish it this time.

I also replay Okami every once in a year. I just love the story (up to a certain point) and the characters so much.

KOTOR 1 & 2 without a doubt. Actually, i think i'm going to go and starta new game on KOTOR now.
I would love to play the war of the worlds game again, but my parents threw it away along with my copies of civilisation, X-com ufo defense, heroes of might and magic (the first one) and a few others that had awesome replay value. Strangely enough, i find its all of my older games that have the replay value

Any of the Total War games, I go back to play on Rome or Medieval 2 all the time as well as playing Empire and Napoleon. Those games are huge, there's always something more you can do.
Other games include KotOR, 1&2, both very fun games with fairly large replay value.

Chrono Trigger for the SNES I love that game so much. I've completed the game 100% about 17 times and I still just keep going back for more.

The DS version is, imo, just as awesome.
