Latley I've replaying some of my favorite titles like mass effect and Portal,

My question is do you often find yourself replaying games? and not only one's like mass effect or fallout with moral choices and all that other stuff but other kinds of games as well? which games do you think have good replay value?

though interestingly enough when I played mass effect again I almost compulsivley had to play exactally the way I did before...and the Idea of replaying fallout 3 is kind of terrifying considering that game is HUGE

I'm replaying Far Cry 2 right now. Third play through. I'm not sure why, but this is a game that I can always come back to for some reason.

I've beaten Mass Effect 5 times and three of those are almost identical. Two are vanguards and and all three full paragon.

Fallout 3 I've played through 3 times with good karma and very similar skillsets.

Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time is endlessly entertaining to me.

I've replayed Fallout 3 5 times. I have a list of everything I haven't done. It's a very short list - I haven't fired 2 weapons, I haven't met 1 character, and I haven't seen 1 setpiece.

I've gone through Left 4 Dead, 1 and 2, countless times. I've played through each campaign dozens of times at least. Left 4 Dead has wonderful replay value because each runthrough is different, but you can recognize certain patterns. Each game can be compared to others to see what worked, what went wrong, and where the Director decided to end the round.

I've replayed Dragon Age three times, each in a completely different way. And I must have finished Bully a dozen times.

Rarely.
I only come back to generated games like Civilization4 and Tropico3 and back to short session games like Worms and Gratuitous Space battles.

I replay most games I buy.

Pretty much all of them actually. Unless of course I hated them the first time around.

I've replayed HL2 and episodes over and over agian. I know what, when and where everything is going to happen and I can almost time it to the second and all of the freshness has long gone but I find myself playing it through every now and again.

I don't usually replay games. Too many games I haven't played yet which have a higher priority.

But in the rare case where I do replay a game, it's because it was fun. Not in order to try a different morality branch, or because it has unlockable gimmicks. It just has to be fun. I've played through Fallout 3 a couple times, playing it the same way both times.

I've been in an almost constant state of leaving the game alone for a few months and returning to replay Freelancer. I love that game, as those of you who know me know.

I started a new game of Mass Effect 2 immediately after I finished it the first time, and as did you, I also kept things mostly consistent with my first play-through, the only major difference being my new emphasis on being Paragon. (The first time around I wasn't too familiar with the moral choice system, and so shot myself in the foot, so to speak, by not adopting any moral stance in particular.)

Another game I wanted to replay immediately after completing it was Crisis Core, mostly because of the combat. It's really the only Final Fantasy game that has ever held my attention enough to prompt near completion of the game. (I did beat it, but I didn't complete all of the side-quests, which were strikingly redundant and riddled with random encounters.)

Pokemon also comes to mind, as you essentially replay the original game every time you pick up a new title in the series.

And finally, I haven't finished my first play-through yet, but I intend to replay Persona 3 Portable, which despite the dungeon grinding, I find to be very addicting and easy to pick up whenever.

I finished Bioshock 2 as a rental, but I'm definitely going to buy it and replay it when the price drops down enough.

A good game is one I cannot put down despite it ending. These are games I tend to replay over and over.
I feel the same way about a good book. If I really enjoyed it, I'll keep rereading my favorite parts as opposed to focusing on a new book. It's sort of vacuous though, as you strive to find an experience that was as immersive as the previous one that you keep returning to.

So, in a way, good games and good books are like the first high from a drug. The experience was so awesome the first time that you're not sure you'll ever be able to replicate it.

I tend to replay the Silent Hill series a lot, they are brilliant games. Also Kingdom Hearts, Pokemon, Final Fantasy X, Metal Gear Solid, and quite a few more
