Recently i've been seeing this more and more lately, so i've decided to give a little public service announcement.

1.) Do not reply to threds that have no text in the OP. Either they will put some there, then you can respond to it, or they wont, and you should leave it alone.

2.) Do not respond to "please ban me" threds or posts. Report and move on. If you quote them and respond, or bump there thred your only giving them more exsposure.

3.) Don't respond to negitave posts. If someone is saying somthing to purposely upset the community or "trolling", then by responding to them your only giving them what they want. Again report and move on.

But really this shoulden't even be happening in the first place, as these things are in the forum rules. so...

I'm sorry to say, but I'm pretty sure you won't get very far with this list. People will do what people do, and just about everyone always wants to get their word in.

In essence, you will always have the people saying "Oh Really? I didn't know that!" in a (no text) topic. You will always have the people who will say "INB4LOCK LOL" in obvious banning threads. Trolling is inherent in all forums anyways.

We all know the forum guidelines thread is there too, people will still not read it unless you post it in each and every single topic. Don't take the law into your own hands, thats all I can really say.

Also, its "Replies" I believe you were shooting for.

I'm not trying to "Take the law into my own hands", just raise awareness. I often hear that these fourums are more mature than others so i'm hoping that at least a few of the well mannered people who may not be aware see this and learn better. Because i've been seeing this kind of thing happen alot more than normal just in the last month.

i think the mods are cracking down a bit on this, recently someone posted a (no text) thread by accident and the first few people went nuts with bad jokes and insults, and they got put on probation
i forget when and where, but it shows that there's a line between just good fun and plain annoying XD

its not that hard to modify a post with the words "Text coming, i hit enter too early" which will buy you some time...

I dunno, I have fun responding to troll threads. The trick is not to respond with indignation or open ridicule. It's like feeding a troll with broken glass.
