Unless they sign with Activision. Sounds right up Kotick's alley!Logan Westbrook said:then you have a studio that treats its staff exceptionally poorly and is run rather poorly. That's not a particularly attractive proposition for a publisher.
I wouldn't call it a huge problem though. New city, new guy, new Era? Totally doable. It would be interesting to see the Anti-Communist hysteria in the medium.PoweD said:The story of LA Noire isn't opened well for a sequel anyway.
Especally since Cole died, they would have to create a completly new character
I was thinking more along the lines of the McCarthy Witch hunts.Dr. McD said:I believe there's already a game for that, it's called Homefront, it's full of unlikable cardboard cutout characters, stole it's gameplay from CoD, and had NO potential from the start.manythings said:It would be interesting to see the Anti-Communist hysteria in the medium.
Sorry, you want a less "meta" example don't you?
Ion Storm did give us Deus Ex, though...rolandoftheeld said:Why did Rockstar bother intervening? The best way to kill a shitty game studio is to let it make its shitty games. See: Ion Storm.
I agree. It's just so static and lifeless. The only time it felt remotely exciting was during the free roam street crime sections when there were no driving restrictions. The main game was cutscene, loading, fast travel, loading, walk around and pick stuff up until you trigger dialog, cutscene, loading, cutscene, completely routine car chase/gunfight/foot chase, cutscene, more loading, grade, cutscene... Might not have been so boring if it ever felt like a Rockstar game in its writing. Just flat and humorless cliche after cliche. Rockstar tried to sell this as a spectator-type game, but every time my dad wanted to watch me play it, he fell asleep inside of ten minutes. That never happened with GTA or Red Dead Redemption.Ritalynn said:I enjoyed LA Noire until i realized i was just pressing X to watch a movie. IT took all the fun out of it. It's not a game. It's a visual book with no fun involved.
Glad i got it for 40 and took it back for 40.
Well considering how we have how many now like 16 FF I think they can do another game that is similar to LA Noire but have it have a different location like NYC NoirePoweD said:The story of LA Noire isn't opened well for a sequel anyway.

Or even more fitting, CHI Noire.Krion_Vark said:Well considering how we have how many now like 16 FF I think they can do another game that is similar to LA Noire but have it have a different location like NYC NoirePoweD said:The story of LA Noire isn't opened well for a sequel anyway.

EA doesn't need to. EA buys competent studios and then turns them into messed up piles of can't get anything done without outside help like Team Bondi. Then they shut them down. But since Team Bondi is in such a poor state already, EA doesn't get to half all of that fun they usually do, and likely aren't interested.Riobux said:Poor game ideas? A complete disregard for employees? I'm surprised EA hasn't bought the studio yet.
I think it's going to be partially avoided by the rise of indie and casual games. If a game developed by two or three guys can make money, they'll always be an immediate alternative to the studio system - just like with movies.Jumplion said:This shit has to stop in this industry. The film industry had this sort of phase early in it's creation and it has thankfully gotten out of it. The video game industry needs to do the same, or it is just going to cause the inevitable crash this industry will face come that much sooner.
