Kind of excited to see someone is trying to take a crack at a female lead superhero show somewhere. I imagine the similarities to Smallville is giving a sense of security to draw executives to take the risk for a female lead.

It will undoubtedly be a teen drama, but if you ask me, teen girls need this kind of thing more than anyone else. It just a matter if they write it the right way.

I thought she was made from a wish a buddy of Superman made to relate and form a relationship with. They disguised her as his cousin and then she, inadvertently, yelled Kal-El (sp?) in front of people. It angered Superman and he never wanted to see her again. Afterward, she requested to the man that wished her to be unmade and then she got retconned.

It'll be interesting to see how they handle this, especially if they're keeping Superman out of it. It could work or it could fall flat on it's face, they have precedent for both.

Just as an FYI, Supergirl is no longer a Red Lantern in the comics.

On an even more unrelated note: My alternate proposal for a female-led superhero TV show is a Raven/Starfire buddy cop show.
If it's the Teen Titans cartoon version of them that would be awesome.

The 1984 version was...
...
Sorry, I came to my senses.
Still, I have fond memories of those same times
When the Ewoks movies were out and everything had to include magic.
I remember the villain using voodoo stuff on Supergirl ;P

Nowadays, everything has to "make sense". I'd like to see someone come up with
Actual wonder like that, hence my febrility towards an eventual Dr Strange movie.
I hope they push the alien superhero thing to the hilt with Supergirl on TV...
I guess as long as it's not "Smallville" or "Man of steel" .

Well, those are interesting times^^ koodos Supergrrrl!

Offfcourse it'll be different.

Ya know, when people screw with the lore of comics, it rarely turns out that well. Especially for female comicbook characters.

Well, lets see how it goes.
