I just accidentally click on the report button on someone's post. Does it matter? I thought it would have a 'are you sure' thing, but obviously not.

I'm pretty sure the mod will decide if the post was offensive or ban-worthy.

It takes dozens of reports on a single person for it to reach a moderators attention, so I don't think you have a problem.

It takes multiple reports for it to even appear on the moderator's list, so don't worry.

ive never used it, but then i joined in 2008, so there's still time

edit: i dont like reporting though i prefer to see the lighter side and just make a joke, unless its really offensive

I report when its against the rules. I'm no vigilante, but I'm here to help keep the boards clean, just like everyone else.

I've used it a coupla times, for trolls or people being blatantly offensive. Never checked back to see if anything was done, though...

As for wether it matters, I doubt it. A mod has to look at the post then decide if action is needed, and I'm sure they're aware that accidents happen.

It's fine, all that will happen is a mod will be alerted about the post, he'll read it, decide it isn't offensive, and move on. I've accidentally reported a few people myself. It happens.

If you do it more then a few times without really having anything to back up why (as in nothing in the post was offensive or mod worth) then yeah maybe, but once or twice isn't going to do anything. The mods here are in no way like the Nazis on other sites.
