Thread idea was given when I took a look at the Valve vs Zynga thread recently, and someone had voiced over Still Alive with his own lyrics. I think you should have a look. [http://soundcloud.com/rig/vote-for-valve]

Anyways, it's pretty straightforward. Have you ever repurposed a song with your own lyrics? I'm sure you have. Now share it with me!

My most recent lyrical override I thought of when I was walking home after class. My teacher had thought of a pretty terrible solution to a pretty simple problem, involving everyone getting up and revolving around the classroom typing in their own set of information into the next computer over. It took an hour, and I was stuck behind three people who all typed half as fast as me. It was a cluster-fuck. Which is exactly what my song was. A repurposed version of "Everybody Was Kung Fu Fighting" whose very angry lyrics would probably bring mod wrath upon me.

Now, tell us about your own frankensongs!

I made one to the theme of Gilligan's Island about the first two Fallout games

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
A tale of a fateful bomb
That started from this frozen war
on this weird ass song.

The kind was a mighty megaton nuke,
The payload destructive and burning.
the world was set on fire that day
for a two hour war, a two-hour war.

The cloud started getting mushroom like,
The mutants were gaining girth,
If not for the courage of the fearless Vault Dweller
The master would rule the earth, The master would rule the earth.

The crew set out in the wasteland of this radioactive desert world
With Ian
The Tycho too,
The Mutant and the Drugmaker,
The Ghoul Doctor
The repairer man and lockpicker ma'am,
Here in the old Boneyard.

So this is the tale of the survivors,
They're here for a long, long time,
They'll have to make the best of things,
It's an uphill climb.

The vault dweller and Dogmeat too,
Will do their very best,
To make the others comfortable,
In the radioactive scorpions nest.

No Law, no safety, no motor cars,
Not a single luxury,
Like a holocaust,
As dangerous as can be.

So join us in the fallout world,
You're sure to tear a mutant's brain out,
With the radioactive heros,
Here in Fallout.
[sub] Dusty: Wow, he should write for us.
Smitty: Naw, that Commi feller is better at writing, But Outcast can be good at times.
Ox: huh, and I thougt One Bad Tank was awesome
Jake: I love Gilligans Island![/sub]

Not mine, but I'll always love the WoW version of the Fresh Prince of Bel Air tune:

Or the Yu-Gi-Oh TAS version for that matter:
Both are brilliant.

Based off of Willie Nelson's "On the Road Again"

Based off of David Allen Coe's "You never called me by my name."

in essence of "Strangers in the Night"

Yep, fighter pilots shamelessly steel songs and write their own lyrics.

EDIT: Here's another one based off of "Downtown" by Frank Sinatra

I've written my own lyrics to the 'Boom De Yada' song as a joke. No, I'm not sharing them, as they're idiotic.

Personally, I prefer the version of the children's book 'Are You My Mother?' that I wrote for a friend of mine. I was out of my head on codeine for a sinus infection; she was playing TF2 and asked a mutual friend 'Are you my Medic?' It came out really well, and we even got someone to read it in voice chat, complete with Heavy-accent and sound effects. (Wish I'd thought to record it...)

Justin Timberlake's "Cry me a river" turned into ritualistic burnings of witches and goblins.

"Witches start to burn, and now it's your turn, to die"

The Ninja has some killer songs too:
