That actually happens to several viruses, bacteria and parasites. The Toxoplasma gondii parasite, for instance, forces the mouses they infect to act recklessly towards cat, counting that they'll get eaten and thus completing the parasite's life cycle.

Nature is much more interesting than most fiction =)

Interesting article but very misleading headline/lead. These aren't zombie caterpillars. They are more like caterpillars with head-crabs. Kind of like zombies but not exactly the living dead.

Looks like we'll be getting 'infected' instead of traditional zombies.

I hate fast zombies, harder to outrun or outsmart.
