I recently played the RE5 demo on x-box live. I like the game and find it well refined and intriguing. I love the control scheme and the extream graphics. I have two complaints.

-The machinate is miserable. You can not hit the zombies unless they hit you first. It is unusable and makes a terrible weapon for those without ammo.

-The f)**ing chainsaw guy is unbearable. How am I supposed to defeat him? I hit him with a incendiary grenade, a hand grenade, and all of the barrels in that stretch and he still wont die. The same with the executioner. How do you kill him?

Ever played RE4? It's the same thing. The people who loved RE4 are the ones loving RE5 and starting the hype. I enjoyed RE4 which is why i'm getting RE5, though it will take practice before I have those funky controls rememorized.

but zombies couldnt break through the walls in re4 so the difficulty has gone up

Unless the demo is set to professional difficulty, which I doubt, that is a bad decision to add difficulty to the first two levels. So I agree with you on that.

This is probably blasphemy, but the demo mostly made me miss the Wii controls. RE 4 on the Wii is great because you can aim and sprint around on the map so much faster. It really changes the gameplay in subtle ways.

Well I, being an RE4 lover, loved the demo. Yes the RE5 demo was tough, it was really tough, but it takes some getting use to it. The controls are different and I'm gonna have to work on rememorizing them as well. But this game does seem a little tougher then RE4, but it's still gonna be a great game to me, at least I hope.

Oh and the way you beat mr. chainsaw, and the executioner, if you're by yourself, good luck it just takes A LOT of time and A LOT of running away. But if you're with a partner, it's easier but still decently annoying. To beat the executioner, you and you're partner just have to run outside the house and past the fence into the city like area, and just kill him there. It takes some time. And the chainsaw guy, just keep running around in circle hitting him with everything you got. He'll die eventually.

I finally took a break from my Gears of War 2 induced coma and downloaded it. I played with one of my friends and both of our first impressions were the same. Shit.
But after a while of playing we begin to get used to it and have a bit of fun. Sure it wasn't very scary, though I screamed (In a totally manly way) when I turned around to see the unstoppable chainsaw wielding monster getting ready to eat my dopey ass for din dins.
Coming from somebody with next to no experience with resident evil me and everyone I played with ended up with the same conclusion. Meh. It was a bit of fun for a laugh with mates, it seems to have way too much action to be scary and as an action game (which is how we all seemed to see it) it just doesn't hold up.
This.
