Please, please no AI player. And actual scares this time. Do you remember those capcom? Honestly, resi 5 was a good action game, but as horror, it failed 99% of the time, using no new tricks, and yet failing to rise a jump out of me in even their classical gags, such as dogs jumping out of nowhere.

Oh, and as much as Wesker is sheer ridiculous villain gold...

And zombies! As overspammed in videogames as they are, I'd like to see them return to their signature franchise. Because feral villagers wielding farm tools just isn't as creepy as dead things that despite being living impaired, are still trying to eat you.

They could always do something like a hive mind invading a city/mansion. Maybe have an unkillable monster sometimes appear/chase you. However, if they did that they would have to have a lot less enemies than were in 4 and 5 (and a lot less ammo of course. Remember, some of the scariest parts of horror games are when you're waiting for the enemy to appear, especially when you know it's there).

However, I'd like them to move away from any established enemy and try to give us something strange and unknown. And for the love of God, DON'T TELL US HOW TO KILL IT IN PREVIEWS AND THE TUTORIAL LEVEL . It ruins the mystery of the enemy.

Does anyone really care about resident evil anymore? I mean, the bad acting in the first game was funny, but the gameplay sucked up until RE4. Resident Evil used to be about zombies and evil corporations, now it's about humorless cliches and giant worms that look like they belong in a godzilla film. Besides, THEY KILLED OFF THE MAIN VILLAIN. And Umbrella corp's gone, so what's going to replace that?

There is one villian i know of if you played the Resi 5 DLC you will find there is one more Wesker left.

And i also want them to try going back to traditional survival not hive minded people or people with a bug inside acting as a reciever because that doesn't seem Resident Evilish to me anymore.

all the racist talk in my opinion is all bullshit, I mean really, would a popular video game company really be deliberately racist?? And I am pretty sure that there are white zombies as well. And anyway, the game is set in Africa so there are bound to be more black zombies than white zombies! Sometimes people worry me...

Also, they shouldn't really be aiming to get the game out as soon as possible. I would prefer if they brought it out at a later date so it is a better game all round.

RE5 wasn't that bad, but I agree with most of the people in this thread - Capcom should go back to their more horror-driven roots with RE6. The "Survival-Horror" genre has been rather underrepresented on this generation of consoles.

This is exactly what I was thinking. The way I see it, there are only two possible routes they can take (without introducing a brand new villain): Tricell becomes the new "Umbrella" and the next game deals with taking them down. How this will work I don't know, as Excella was killed too.
The other option would, to me, be a better choice. If anyone recalls, late in RE5 you find a list of names that is apparently everyone who worked for Umbrella and knew all the top-secret stuff. Almost everyone on that list is dead, some after being tortured to make sure they didn't know anything. I think one person may be locked up in prison somewhere and is written off, but there was a female (I want to say her name started with a 'J') whose whereabouts are listed as "Unknown". She could be the next villain. If she had access to everything about Wesker and Umbrella, there's no telling what she can do.

Resident Evil 6?... uhmm... that sounds like cow milking to me.
Honestly, story wise (yes, there IS a story in the series, belive it or not), we've already killed a mayor villain in the series that, as portrayed in some ridiculously awesome cutscenes, seemed undefeatable at worst.

Umbrella is defunct, Tricell stopped it's operations, all the mayor scientists involved with the Progenitor proyect, the T-Virus, the G-Virus, the Plagas discovery and the Uroboros proyect are either horribly mutated and dead, or simply dead. And Wesker, THAT major villain I was talking about, is dead for good (I hope).

What can they come up now? cloned-african-spanish-alien-robot-dinosaur-nazi-zombies? (heh, I was playing a bit too much "Time Gentlemen, Please!", you should do yourself a favor and buy that game ASAP).

As much as I love the series, Capcom is running low on steam and I hope they come up with something awesome.

RE4 was what brought their game into the spotlight. Sure people liked the original, but RE4 was the heavy hitter in the franchise. I never played RE5 as I heard it was not nearly as good. Why would they go back to the old style?

So, CAPCOM is planning on putting out two Resident Evil games in a short time? I mean, they're already working on Resident Evil: Revelations for the 3DS, and I'm assuming that this will be a 360/PS3 version. I'm sure they could do it, but I'd rather wait a few years and get a good game instead of them rushing something out.

I enjoyed 5 a lot, but it's not a perfect game. The AI is hard to work with on Veteran and Professional difficulties (though it's more than tolerable on lower ones, and I've sometimes preferred it to human players). I wouldn't mind another co-op game, but I think lower ammo (such as Lost in Nightmares) and more tension about not knowing what will happen next is needed.

They also need to retire some of the characters. Chris and Jill are getting older, and they've done the job they set out to do by killing Wesker. I think Sheva is fine as new character, but they just did very little to make me truly sympathize with her. Sure, you can read her character profile and that explains more of her background and motivation for joining the BSAA, but if they had taken the time to even mention some of that in game, she would have been a lot more relate-able.

A bit, delaying Dead Rising 2 twice, and stealing a lot from RE4, and making it hella lot shorter and...I just was mad I wasted my money.

Believe it or not, delaying a game can be a good thing.
