No, actually, they take way more time. 10 years ago Half Life was made in one year. Nowadays games take 2-3 years, and the bigs ones 5+ years.

As much as I would like to see a RE6 I'm pretty sure it ain't gunna happen. Think about it, at the end of RE5 you blew up Wesker with two rocket launchers. Nothing could escape that so no Wesker means no villain for a new game. At least that's what I think.

But srsly, one loose end that I hope Resi 6 ties up is whether or not Wesker's dead. Yes, I know the last time we saw him he was drowning in lava and two rockets were fired at him, but we didn't specifically see him breathe his last breaths. So he MIGHT be still alive. Excella and Irving are definitely dead, but I don't know about Wesker.

There's also Sherry Birkin, IIRC. Maybe she'll be the next Big Bad when Resi 6 rolls around.

Hasn't Wesker died like... four times? Something something about Code: Veronica explaining why he's immortal or some drivel? Just like Two-Face in the last Batman movie I'd bet money that we'll be seeing more of him within the next two installments.

EDIT: Also the entire series isn't built around Wesker. He's not even in half the RE games. That's like saying you can't make a Silent Hill game because Pyramid Head dies.

Hasn't the world ended in like three different Resident Evil storylines already. It was a bad series that had one good game (4 for those of you who don't know it) and then screwed up again. You can cool your heels for a least a few months after the release of 5 before you start the hysteria that will ensue when they start announcements involving a possible sixth game.

Personally I want all of the REs from the good timez Remade, but it wont happen.
