So i'm a fan of the Resident Evil games and enjoyed the first Resident Evil movie. It wasn't cannon but it pulled inspiration from the first three games and were in touch with the survival horror aspect. The other two i had issues with, and i'm sure the third was the dumbest.
Much like from my experience from Superman IV, X-3, and Wolverine... i was reluctant as hell to see the new movies, and since Resident Evil hadn't really delivered on the "awesome sauce" that they had promised in the previous two films, I wasn't going to let them tempt me in with shots of Wesker.
Well It finally came on netflix and after a review from a friend, I broke down and decided to watch it. It was alright, it was a good zombie film, and throwing in a few character surprises along the way, it was a cool ride. Wesker was of course eye candy with only popping up once at the beginning and once at the end. So over all... not bad.
Except for one thing.
WHY! WHY is umbrella STILL doing experiments with the T-virus. What's the fucking point. The whole world is Zombieland. The opening of the movie is showing the outbreak in japan. So why are they STILL testing. There's no one to sell it to! There's not one stable governments left, much less two. So what war is there for them to sell this weaponized virus too! This isn't the portal cannon where the plan was basically to test their asses off with no real marketing step to sell or even HOW to sell most of their inventions to the world.
It was seriously like 28 weeks later. WHY! What's the point! The rage virus that took out an island in less than a month is there... on an island. its quarantined! It can't get off! the rest of the world is safe... so why the FUCK would you send people back on it! Sorry folks, but you can't go back home. you got plenty of continents to choose from... so have fun!
In the since of 28 weeks, its not that I was upset they made a sequel, it's just that it was illogical. Yes they could have used the genetic mutation around the eyes as a carrier without felling the effects... but the whole "lets go back to the island" was just retarded.
Resident Evil: afterlife has me feeling the same way. I can understand Alice kicking ass from the surviving underground bases where they are hiding from the virus... but why are they still testing!
All i can say is i'm happy i didn't "technically" spend money on this!
Does anyone feel the same way?
