My friend and I have been reminiscing recently over how much fun we've had lately playing Resident Evil: Outbreak online. This is largely due to the announcement of a new Resident Evil "team shooter."
So, who liked Outbreak? Did you play online? Would you like to see another one? And do you think this new game could work?
I loved Outbreak. My friend and I used to play it all the time. It was creepy, well thought out, and every round was fun. It's a shame the game is virtually unplayable offline.
I think a Resident Evil team shooter could work. Not squad based or quite as tactical as something like SOCOM (though the team who developed SOCOM is rumored be making this game) but more like a co-op Resident Evil 4 or 5. While this would compromise the horror for the most part, in my opinion, it fits in to the Resident Evil story. There were paramilitary squads in Raccoon during the outbreak, and it might give the series a new and interesting perspective on the series.
Thoughts?
