May i first say sorry since i'm pretty sure this topic has been
done before but can't confirm it

anyway as in my last FPS review we will take a quick look back

R1 was a solid launch title for the PS3 and was definatley fun to play but
it did have Flaws e.g.colour pallette (seriously even Gears of War or KillZone 2 has a better choice of colour) , Graphic were nothing big, strange story that was hard to keep track of (that my opinon) . But thats all the ones i can recollect of the top of my head. oh just before i move on R1 had a great online with a good setup of modes and a fun 40 player matches.

now onto R2 it takes place pretty much were R1 left off on Hale surviving.

i'll start off with the story it's definatley better and more enjoyable then the last one since Hale talks alot more he gives order there more characters, everything is explained more
we are taken more into the origins of the Chrimera although there are some parts of the story that definatley could have been better i'm only going to say one for now and thats explaining more about the new characters the only new character i seemed to get to know well was Dr.Malikov.

Now onto Gameplay i'll start on the single player and i will say it right now that it's nothing special, but don't be fooled when i say "special" Call of Duty was "special" MGS4 was "special" even Gears 2 was "special" honestly that part when (SPOILER ALERT) dom find's his wife was just a huge amount of emotion for the player to deal with but then there's those moments when you see something huge the obvious one would be when you the the giant goliaht things (forgot their name sorry) those moments work even though i'd seen lots of videos of these moments before but when i experiance it i was left open mouth.then there are the Boss fights well there somewhere between fun and frustrating since each boss fight is like a puzzle (you have find their weakness) but they really are satisfying but the only draw back is the fact you can't shrug off thinking "these boss fights seem to be pretty cheap in how much work really went into them)

but the single player is definatley fun and satisfying and also a good chellange just a little dissipointing

now onto multiplayer i will split this part between competitive and CO-OP
first competitive

it's definatley fun it's both tactical but like Call of Duty not much teamwork as you would expect but it's truly a great experiance and each time you play a match you always feel as though you just had a mini rush of adreniline, with the AWESOME weapons (my faviroute would be the Auger) and real useful berserks , NO LAG at all , finding a match within seconds once you press X on confirm all this shows how much work insomniac truly put into the online afterall their main focus was the online for R2 in the first place my complains for the competitive would be why is there no force respawn ?, character models are not hat good, more game modes are definatley needed and we need more RANKS!.

now onto the CO-OP i'll put it into one word "PERFECT" ,,,,why ??

simple because the CO-OP itself deserves a 9/10 , every class relys on the other, you need all the help you can get ,the leveling is so much fun and so rewarding i found my self ending up playing 3 hours non stop playing the CO-OP. it is just so much fun , all 3 classes are made for their purpose and not "balanced" out like recent games have tried to do.so i don't have many complains for the CO-OP other then the fact that i really wish there were more ranks ( 30 is not enough !)

overall:

if you want to buy R2 for the single player you will be satisfied but not blown away

if you want R2 for it's multiplayer and and CO-OP then you should hurry up and run to that store because i garuntee you will not be dissipointed.

and yes there frustrating things like the Furies (seriously why can't they die?) or the one hit kill enimies but i found my self getting used to it after about 3 consecutive deaths by a cheap Chrimera

BOTTOM LINE

is Resistance 2 worth the money ??

YES
