I know it was last week but I haven't seen a topic on it.

This is a question mainly to people from the UK, How did your results go? GCSE and A-level came out last thursday.

Personally, I think I did fine. Core 2 Maths: A, Mechanics 1: B, Numerical Methods: B, Statistics 1: c, Physics (new spec): B + C, Sociology: D.

How did the rest of the Escapee's do?

You were doing so well until sociology.
C2:A C3:C C4:E M1:C S1:B
Physics: B
Economics: B

Further maths is about as fun as it looks from those results, but it somehow adds up to a B in maths. Now all I need is to work out just what the hell I'm meant to do about resits, not that the college seem to be helping me in that field.

Are you in Year 12 going into 13 or have you left college now? If its the former, try talking to your exams officer and put yourself back in. They cant stop your resitting if you pay for it which is not that much for some (£17~).

Also, yes, I know I failed miserably at Sociology. Never liked it and I was kinda afraid that the teacher fancied me (She is older and married. Bit too old). Also, are you taking Further Maths? Or just commenting on the fact I did NM and M1?

I got:
Biology: A
Chemistry:A
Classics: A (ALTHOUGH I'm adamant that I got an A*, got 91% overall)
Phyics: B

I'm very chuffed with that :), need to resit 1 physics exam and then I'm sorted :)
Bit annoying to drop the subject I did the best in, but alas, I have to...I'm not doing 4 A2 levels.

I was actually refering to the whole maths/physics being highly sought after qualifications that the UK needs whereas sociology is a bit... Dime a dozen.

So yeah, year 12, but they've not said jack shit about who specifically to go to so I'm just gonna stumble on in and dander around until I get all the resit forms I need.

3 Key Skills passed with Distinction.

Cs/Bs in English. I did the AS and A2 courses in the 3 months before the exams and passed with marks towards the higher end of the class.

C in ICT

C overall in Biology, but got an A (108/120) on the synoptic paper which was a right ***** to prepare for.

I was pleased, seeing as my previous sets of results throughout the 2 years had been a long line of U D and E.

Ouch, nice mark but poor you for having to do that. I managed to get out of it along with a group of 5 or so people. We invented a new game in our free lessons: Charadanary. It's charades, pictionary and hangman all in one. Good fun, got a bit complicated though.

After finding that my course didn't even accept CT and having an entire test on the application of Nappies I just..stopped caring about that one xD

A* doesn't come out until next year and are part of an overall A level. You can't get it for just AS level.

As for myself.

English Lit: A
English Lang: A
Geography: B
History: C
General Studies: A!
Critical Thinking:B

History was especially devistating because it's the only one I really bothered to study for. I could have spent those 5 days learning Origami instead of brushing up on the dates of women suffrage.

Yeah, thats basically why my life doesnt suck. What I'm good at is needed LOTS. Everyone's talking about how Uni places are so rare now, Not as bad for Maths/Physics (especially Physics, what I aim for). Sociology was never going to be my thing, It was only meant for the year to keep my teachers off my back about taking 4 AS-levels. Thought it was a doss, was bloody annoying. Slept and listened to music in most of it.

I did pretty well with my IGCSE results. Got 3 A*, 5 As, 1 B and 1 C. A* for English Language (extended), French Foreign Language and Geography(extended). As in English Literature (extended), Chemistry (extended), Biology (extended), History (extended) and Mathematics (extended). B in German Foreign Language. C in Physics (extended).

The C pisses me off simply because it wasn't fully my fault. Five minutes before the main exam I went to the bathroom. When I came back someone had stolen my calculator. So I did a major physics exam without a calculator. It annoyed me to no end.

PS: These are IGCSE so they're the same as GCSE but international (Cambridge version).

4 As, 1 B and 1 C. Luckily, I can compensate the C so I still get a B for that subject, currently at least. Oh, and it's got nothing to do with GSCE or A-Levels or whatever, but I'm happy all the same. .

What is that?
Critical Thinking is a subject for the really cool kids. It's a bit like General Studies in the sense that it isn't accepted as an actual A level.

Basically it's like a softcore version of formal logic. You study arguments and how to analyse them critically.

What about all the people in the years before us that got 90%+ ?

I know you're annoyed but you'll get your mark eventually. Some people wont get one at all. Ok? :D
