Will you play the games you have today 5-10 years from now? Myself, I'm building up a collection on Steam, so that when I am at work in about 10 years (I plan to become a forensic scientist), I can play games when I'm not working, as the computers then will be more than capable of playing Bioshock and Deus Ex.

Since I have enjoyed many games that are now classics, precisely when they had already become classic, I suppose that the same situations would easily apply in 4 or 5 years.
I only played Half-Life last year for the first time (I should say completed, since I did play it in small segments before, but never thoroughly because I never had my own copy thus depended on the kindness of others), and Half-Life 2 this very year. Deus Ex, already called a master piece (and the first game I ever finished), I enjoyed when it was looking clunky in its graphics.
Not two days ago I FINALLY got hold of a copy of another piece of game art: Grim Fandango, and plan to finish it within this week, which is no less than eleven years after released, when already a huge devoted cult had built up altars for the game everywhere.
And so on and so forth with many other titles. I don't plan it like that, it just has happened.
So yes... I guess that chances are, at least even, that I'd find myself playing retro games on the future.

All those are on my to-play list, too. I don't have copies of Deus Ex or Grim Fandango yet, and no idea where to get some.

I remember reading some GF forum a while back and the impression I was left with was that GF won't work right on modern Windows systems even with both official and fan-made patches. How do you run it?

I don't think I will ever stop re-playing half life 2, and its subesquent games.

They just grip me...I have played through 3 times on Half life 2 and 2 times episode 1, and I am confident I will never get bored.

And as long as Bioshock works, I will play it.
And Garry's mod, due to the ever-updating user content.
And Loads more I guess.

I can see my self going through my JRPG's every so often to remember why I love them.

I have seen Deus Ex around the internet, mostly for download, but also a few copies here and there, I think that even in Amazon I saw some.
But it is not easy to find. I searched ages for Grim Fandango and only have it because it was a lucky hand-me-down. But I don't think I have ever seen a place that sells the full game. And the eBay and Amazon prices are, as Rorschach would clearly put it: Rrrrriii-diculous!.

And for the second part of your post: You are right. I am suffering with the game. Even for a PC running Windows (for which crashing is but second nature) its been freezorama galore! It runs super poorly.
I did manage to install it without much problems (here are some links that are very useful for that: Lucas Forums post 2 [http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=171217]), but playing has been, appropriately, a Grim affair.

I've asked around for ideas on what to do, like installing DirectX 6.0, that the game demands, but no conclusive answers have arrived yet. Something that seems to be a fact is that it does not run on nVidia cards. But I have no idea if this is really an absolute true.
If I hear of something else I'll let you know, if you want. :)
