If a retro game series was to be restarted with a sequel/more which would it be?, why?, what would you change about it? and what made that game/series better then the rest? (retro being 5 years+ without a main series game)

Spyro was the better retro game for me (not the crappy ass non main series of games). it just had a nice charm to it, it didnt have huge maps, it was sort of open world but not, the character (spyro) and the side characters were so likeable and anyone could play it and love it. if it was to be restarted i would ask for bigger levels imo but not so big that its unnecessary just big enough to add more to do and more to see without seeming over done. it was just a great game and had a good story, it had great humor and story telling, it was just a way to escape for a few hours into being a little purple dragon followed by a dragon fly

I've gotta be honest and say that i prefer the retro games to stay that way. When they revamp an old series they tend to change it so much that it stops being the game that it was and ends up being a poor cash in (like syndicate for example) or they just remake the old game with new graphics (Boulderdash HD).

I want developers to start innovating again not regurgitating

I miss Crash Bandicoot, it hasn't been a very long time since his last release, though they've done horrible horrible things to him. (Spyro would be nice, they've done horrible things too him too.)

Might and Magic. I've waited for so long for a new one. All eight previous ones were various degrees of good, with 7 being my absolute favourite. Why, Ubisoft, why do you withhold a possibly awesome RPG from being made?

A new Chrono game. I loved Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross so I'd love another one of those. Since the series is one of those where they have little in common I don't mind a lot of change as long as it still has that same spirit, beautiful aesthetics and music, and retro turn based combat.

Also 5 years old is retro? I don't consider things retro unless they're 2 gens ago or older.

I'm all aboard the Crash/Spyro bandwagon. Hell, I imagine I would've bought a PS3 instead of a 360 if they remained in good games.
i remem having a spyro game for ps3 that was alright i think

devs can pump out all the original stuff they want but returning to that series in yesteryear you loved and doing a good job of it would get you at your heart lol

Me too.
It's not the connection between the games, but the general tragic atmosphere and retro fantasy feel that I miss.

Also, more Higurashi.
