As someone has suggested, go back, but put something in your clothes first. Something smelly or something that makes a pretty decent amount of bubbles or something. Use the ruined clothes for this, or something else you don't care about beeing ruined. But do something they will notice, or else you might end up ruining the clothes of the person after you, and that ain't something you'd want.
