Almost like taking wildlife photos in real life!! Minus the bugs, heat, nasty tents, and problems with being attacked by bandits and/or soldiers. Also, the player character looks....smexy. In a scientist kind of way.

Susan Arendt now knows the answer to the question, "Where can you see lions?"

So do I! Kenya. Lions and tigers only in Kenya.
A Tiger? In Africa?

Skip to about 1:21 if you can't wait.

Picked the game up after reading this, and I'm glad I did. Natsume seems to have a way of making what seem like menial everyday tasks and making them fun. To me, it almost feels a bit like a sniper game, sneaking up on your target and waiting for just the right moment to take the shot, then slinking away.

Dude, I gotta say it. This game looks GREAT! I've played and beaten Pokemon Snap a few times and I've wanted a similar yet non-Pokemon version of that game for some time now. I'm glad to see that an apparent sh*t-ton of effort went into a realistic game that looks and feels like the wilderness of Africa. Now all I need is a PS3 and a reliable source of income that covers more than just my rent and food (ie a second job).

I was almost hoping for Farcry2 with all the armed soldiers exchanged for animals acting natural... Still looks pretty intresting though.

well... to be fair, in a real safari they do have their ponds and areas of living, i know animals dont always stay there but for what i have watched in Discovery Channel, when hunting for pictures or videos, the guides take them to the places where they usually hang out

but if the issue is that there is only 1 pond for each water animal and its the size of say your backyard pool i can see why it would be kind of anoying...

regarding your meerkat photo Susan, maybe you should go to comparethemeerkats.com, where we compare meerkats!

Sorry couldn't help it.

Anyway, I shall be buying this game, purely on the basis that its different and having a few hours to burn why not spend that time on a different sort of game.

sorry, I'm on a thread regarding the must chilled out game ever (possibly) and i'm acting like i've got ADHD, so can you die in the game?.

Also watching the review supplement I get the distinct feeling of "its not quite right" its like the uncanny valley biting me in the face, seeing that cheetah take down that springbok didn't feel right to me.

Sigh...didn't read the review, did you? Sad making.

The animation in the actual game is, bizarrely enough, actually better than the cinemas, like the cheetah taking down the impala. (Or was it a gazelle? Anyway.) The animals move far more realistically in the regular course of the game than they do during those "dramatic moment" cutscenes.

yup, from what i've seen throw some pokemon in there would be a game i could get into, but who the fuck wants to look at regular old real animals, pfft...i can see them any time! looks out the win...ok turn on the animal channel at the right time! i want a re-make of pokemon snap for shizzle! or like a monster safari game, were its made up creatures, made up environment, with made up natures and actions. something out of the plane old normal, i saw all those animals watch Steve Erwin (who was my hero) 7 years ago!

It's probably one of those games that I will never get and will always be bothered about never getting.

How much is it sold at? No way I'm getting it at full price, but if it ever dropped I might check it out... then again I'm from Europe...

For the price of a PS3 and the get up, you can go down to your local zoo with a camera and take photos of animals. Its no the same thing be it, but the photos in this game will never be quite the same. Plus, seriously that shot of the meerkat sucked. I hope there are lenses that let you zoom in real close because they is annoying small.

Hmm went into this just watching a review because I was bored and somehow feel I should get this at some point. But just to be safe I'm gonna watch the review frame by frame to check for subliminal advertisement and black magic.

It's like Pokemon Snap, but with fewer snorlaxes and more elephants.

except in the video supplement it looked like that elephant was going to kick your ass.

It looked interesting and fun even if I would get impatient waiting and all, it'd be a nice change of pace to do something relaxing like hardcore nature photography.

I did have one question. What would happen if you drove that little jeep of yours into one of those animals? I know they run away...but you are in a jeep, you have to be able to catch up to something.
