As with the environment, though, the system feels a bit restrictive. You can't use a weapon until you've found the appropriate combo card, and it would have been nice to allow players some more experimentation: What happens when I stick knives on a boxing glove?
He probably means you can't use the heavy attacks. Like with the Defiler you can't do your spinning attack until you have the card.DTWolfwood said:Mr. Funk i hope you know that you can make combo weapons without actually knowing the Combo Card. Granted it will not have the 2x multiplier for PP but you can still make them if you know the Recipe.
Just an update.
P.S. FREEDOM BEAR = win versus Boss Fights hehe
I figured he mite have meant that but the paragraph was vague so best to mention it if that isnt what he meant ^-^BrunDeign said:He probably means you can't use the heavy attacks. And when he refers to putting knives on boxing gloves what is he talking about? That's one of the most popular/powerful weapons in the game if I'm not mistaken. Is he saying it doesn't exist or what?
Zombie Elites, Grunts, Jackals and Hunters roaming a shopping centre. Playing as Chuck green, who now access to covenant weaponry?GamesB2 said:Oh god I'm really enjoying this game... too bad I have Reach as well so I have to choose what to play X_x
I want to play both, at the same time! D:
At first, you'll be really busy but you'll have plenty of time to explore later on. Hell, if you want to, you can let the story kill itself and have 6 hours worth of exploration.Ubermetalhed said:Im pretty put off by the timer system. Is it really that restrictive??
... This is a game that needs to be made. Seriously 343 Industries, I will buy another Halo game if you do this (hell, you can even put Chuck in power armor if microsoft forces you, but seriously, look into this).arc1991 said:Zombie Elites, Grunts, Jackals and Hunters roaming a shopping centre. Sorry, should have clarified. At first, the game doesn't really make it CLEAR that you can use an item without a combo card - and you won't be able to use them to their full extent. I didn't even know I COULD use items I hadn't gotten the combo cards for until I was... near the end of the second day?MrTim said:Thats weird - on page two of the review it says that you can't use combo items until you found the appropriate card. I have made several of the combo weapons without the cards and used them just fine.

Should've done your review off the PC version, it had a nice transition more or less. The lack of customizing keybindings and a few other things are irritating but the overall playstyle feels more intense and the loading times are much faster. It also doesn't seem to have the same glitches you were talking about either.John Funk said:Review: Dead Rising 2

In the game's defense (and I love this game, but agree with most of your criticisms), if you go online and perform well in one episode(?) of Terror is Reality, you can easily net yourself ~$65k, enough to purchase two doses of Zombrex and start you on your way to a third....if you don't feel like shelling out exorbitant prices at the makeshift pawnshops or can't find a survivor with a spare dose...
