The Lost Plant 2 demo takes place in a circular arena facing off against the "Salamander boss," as described by Capcom's Frank Filice, seen at this year's E3. I would describe the boss more as bull meets chameleon with its long horns and multiple freakish, whip-like tongues that snap around corners trying to catch the player off guard. Its movements are amazing, moving as a real monster should. It walks right over ridges, up walls and even follows players that are doing damage on it.

Now this boss in huge; so huge that you can even jump inside him to attack the gross vitals for even more damage while fending off the smaller monsters that seem to have made their home inside the stomach. No matter what point you are on the map, the monster seems to take up the other half of it. Though the glowing orange "shot here" spots mark exactly how to take this beast down, it is still rather difficult to do unless you have some buddies to help.

This time around, Lost Planet 2 allows up to four-player coop during the entire campaign and is available in the demo. Capcom integrates this feature well with shared battle gauge which is also used as health and a time limit. Data posts seen in the last game are also integrated well, raising the battle gauge when captured and serving as respawn points when the beast will more than likely step on you . There's even some Medic type guns that raise a teammate's offense or defense and let you transfer some thermal energy to a teammate. Even some customization options have been talked about but all you really get to see are different colors depending on which player you are.

Even though this is not the finished product, everything looks gorgeous running on the new framework MT 2.0 and you can tell the developers took a lot of time to make it that way. All the snow has melted away and the grass and water look so alive and new. The terrain looks just the way a monster's hideout should, just the right size for it to squeeze through every corner yet ridged like a cave.

Now don't worry, if you haven't played the first one Lost Planet. The learning curve is pretty easy and there are signs spread out all across the arena to tell you how use what. Also, nothing is really spoiled so don't think you have to finish the series in order though I highly recommend at least playing the first one. This was a very exciting demo and I can't wait to hear the final release date on this game.

Bottom line: A must play for anyone even a little bit interested in shooters or really big monsters.

Recommendation: Hey, it's a free demo. What do you got to lose? Just play one round.

P2 would like to say this is his first review and hopes you all enjoy it.

I like that the demo has 4 player live co-op. My friends and I still play it for some fun.

That's alright. It might not be for everyone. I know I hated it at first because I couldn't beat it after 3 tries but just hang in there.

Match making is a little frustrating too but I find just creating a match to be much quicker.

The boss is actually quite difficult at first, which actually makes this demo quite fun. Also, the boss is either called "Stubby" (as long as one of his legs is missing) or Demon Toad from Hell.

I prefer the term "Zomguard"

I tried twice (Once on my own and once with friends). But despite the fact that fighting it fighting it with friends it didn't change anything.

I felt that the controls were a little complicated, that your character was way to slow and it was way to simple to beat him if you got into an area that he couldn't reach.

Welcome to the escapist.

Now to the reviewing part.

It would be nice if you gave us an introduction to the game before you throw us into an scenario.
Lost planet 2 takes place on the blah blah blah 10 years after the first game blah blah

Other than that, great review

Thanks for the thought. I really am looking for criticisms to make my reviews better. I'll make sure to add a couple sentences of back story in my other reviews.

I also am working on setting up a capture card so I hope my next review will contain some video as well. I'm open to suggestions so if anyone wants something reviewed, let me know about it and I'll do the best I can!
